ACORN Thrown Under the Bus By Historic Supporter, John McCain. (He Headlined a 2006 ACORN Event) »

Posted By Neophile 8 months, 3 weeks ago in Political News

Bertha Lewis, Acorn's chief organizer, said in a statement, “It has deeply saddened us to see Senator McCain abandon his historic support for ACORN and our efforts to support the goals of low-income Americans."

”We are sure that the extremists he is trying to get into a froth will be even more excited to learn that John McCain stood shoulder to shoulder with ACORN, at an ACORN co-sponsored event, to promote immigration reform," she said.

This is just a manufactured story to attack the Dems but it has little substance. The real issues concerning voter fraud are paramount and are lacking the attention they deserve.

Yeah, I heard about this. So many people crowing about it being voter fraud. Well, if they kick out these registrants, it will indeed be fraud - the other way.

Power to the People! Right On!
My little brother, who is no longer alive, took on the establishment by feeding people out of a hippie school bus.
The only criteria offered to folks was to eat it.
One of my oldest friends is an Anarchist.
Who could believe that a group of left-wing do-gooders could takeout the whole economic system, just by being left-wing do-gooders.
And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
Mar 12:42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
Mar 12:43 And he called [unto him] his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
Mar 12:44 For all [they] did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living.

And it seems that she had the power to take them out!
No need to flip over tables.
Who knew anarchy could be so easy!
Just give that widow a hand, and the money changers fall.

This story is very comical. It leaves out the juicy details. This event was sponsored by many organizations, not just ACORN. The local Catholic archdiocese, SEIU and others. The topic was immigration. So, it is a case of McCain crossing the so called aisle to talk about a topic that has proven to cause him some partisan misery. A case of John reaching out to the other side to try to further the debate on a critical topic. And orgasmic liberals see it as an undying love for ACORN. I really loved the statement that Bertha Lewis, Acorn's chief organizer, sent with the photo:

“It has deeply saddened us to see Senator McCain abandon his historic support for ACORN and our efforts to support the goals of low-income Americans."

One event is historic support(?) and a speech about immigration is related to the goals low-income Americans(?).

Please feel free to carry on...

This entire guilt-by-association game the Rabid Right has mired themselves in is sad, ugly and very reminiscent of the fascist feelings that drive so many of them. They should be aware it's a sword of Damocles. It slices in both directions.

Is it just me, or do others think the Acorn Voter fraud thing is being swept under the rug by most of the news media. I've been watching news stations such as CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and MSLSD and only FOX is reporting this stuff. Doesn't this prove what I've been saying that these news sources are covering up anything and everything that could look badly for Obama and the democrats. I do beleive those news sources are totally in the tank for Obama and the Dems. There is no longer any doubt about that. So, happy brain washing to you all!

LOL...the fraud alleged was by private contractors working for ACORN...they registered +/- 1.3 million legal voter...In case you didn't know dead people can't vote...the companies simply wanted more registrants to get paid more...the fake people can't vote..lol. This is another vehicle for racism...plain and simple.

Wall Street Journal, Tuesday, October 14, 2008

"The Obama campaign is now distancing itself from Acorn, claiming Mr. Obama never organized with it and has nothing to do with illegal voter registration. Yet it's disingenuous to channel cash into an operation with a history of fraud and then claim you're shocked to discover reports of fraud. As with Rev. Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers, Mr. Obama was happy to associate with Acorn when it suited his purposes. But now that he's on the brink of the Presidency, he wants to disavow his ties."

anyone who has never participated in a voter registration drive, has no right to criticize acorn. i have personally registered hundreds of voters and i can't guarantee any of them. that is the job of each state's sec'y of state to verify the new registrations. people who go out to register new voters are not seeking to commit fraud...they are seeking to increase participation in our democracy. (any of you have a problem with that?)

it is hard, thankless work...and there is no way to verify that the person you've solicited to register is already registered or lying about his/her legal status. i can state unequivocally that i have never registered a dead person and don't know anyone who has.

finally, to my knowledge there has NOT been an indictment or conviction of any organization for registering people to vote. if any one is guilty of voter fraud it is the individual who knows he/she is not eligible or already registered. if already registered, they wouldn't be able to vote twice anyway.

this kind of obsessive focus on "voter fraud" is a red herring to divert attention from the very real election "irregularities" practiced by republicans. hanging chad and elections decided by a candidate's brother & the supreme court...diebold machines that have been tampered with and such like.

Like all liberal groups, they start with good intentions only to end in corruption. Acorn has been involved with voter fraud in Milwaukee and Chicago for years. They've had people registering nursing home patients and getting them to sign absentee ballots of course supporting the DNC candidates. They've registered entire NFL football teams from other states. They've registered dead people. Their excuse? The support of the liberal causes. Complain and it's racism.

McCain supported what he thought was "ACORN'S" goal. When found out that this group was a bunch of "liberal bigots", who's only real intention, to the extent of using fraud and lies-behind-lies, to promote only the Obama campaign...he had to be honest to himself..and get out of this group fast!
I hope most americans have realized by now, who the real Obama is...he's a "closet radical", to say it mildly.. from his humble? beginnings as a communoity organizer, where he learned all the tricks of the "trade", and his alliances with co-radicals like Ayers and Resko and Pastor Wright,,,to name a few...!

I think right wingers have decided with this campaign that they should give up any hope of ever attracting any significant number of African-Americans to the GOP and so they're basically going for broke in twisting up the smear quotient. Cons realize that whether Obama wins or loses.

What is deeply saddening here is that an organization like ACORN can walk into a county office in Ohio and dump 80,000
fraudulent voter registration forms on someones desk and walk out. Then come back two weeks later after the forms have been open and processed and tell those people that the forms they turned in were fraudulent..well after anything can be done about it.
And they do this in state after state and get away with it.
All because their spokesperson is telling the country what a great service they are doing by signing up new voters.
