Obama's Kenyan birth father: In Islam, religion passes from the father to the child. Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (1936–1982) was a Muslim who named his boy Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. Only Muslim children are named "Hussein".

It is not startling or controversial to learn that in Islam, as in Christianity, the religion of a child is considered to be that of the father. It therefore is not startling at all that Obama's religion at birth was that of his father, namely Islam.
Reply
What is shocking is that Obama has so completely and in absolute terms denied he is Muslim - when the truth is that was his birth religion. After all, there is nothing wrong with Islam or being a Muslim, with over 1 billion adherents. The oddity here is to have a man so adamantly denying who he is and his heritage. This is why so many Americans are getting very suspicious of Obama - if he cannot even tell the simple truth about who he is, reasonable people ask, what other skeletons rest in his closet. -

Why do you say that Obama's birth certificate has to be the most scrutinized ever. When did the state department vet Obama birth certificate? It would help us all a lot if you could produce information on when Obama's birth certificate was vetted by the state department. Also, can you tell us why Obama just doesn't produce the real document? -

StevieGee8 months, 3 weeks ago
Obama's birth certificate has to be the most scrutinized birth certificate ever. If it's good enough for the state department, it's good enough for me. Let's see McCain's birth certificate. Barack Obama is a Christian. He say's he is therefore he is. You cons need to decide whether he is a muslim or a member of Wright's church. He can't be both. I would like you to tell me why being a muslim would make him unqualified anyway. Soitenly, what religion are you? Maybe you could post a certificate to prove what you are. You should change your avatar because you are an insult to Curley. You are a stooge though.

Reply
Sigh. Moron. Let me go through this is small, easy to digest steps:
1) For starters, the candidate's religion is irrelevant, so the entire discussion is ridiculous.
2) It is irrelevant what the position of Islam is on identification of a child's purported religion. This tells you nothing about the actual beliefs *of the child*. People choose religions. Religions do not choose people.
3) Simply because a name may be used by adherents of a given religion does not mean that others do not also use it. No one reviews names on birth certificates, and vets whether the parents are 'entitled' to use a particular given name. By your logic, every woman named Athena would be an active adherent to the religion of ancient Greece, every woman named Brigit would worship the gods of the Irish, and every woman named Elaine would follow the ways of the Welsh.

Obama's Indonesian family: His stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, was also a Muslim. In fact, as Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng explained to Jodi Kantor of the New York Times: "My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim." An Indonesian publication, the Banjarmasin Post reports a former classmate, Rony Amir, recalling that "All the relatives of Barry's father were very devout Muslims."

With Mr. Mccain we have seen his many years of work and his private life laid out for all to see. Mr. Obamas life is hidden like a great veil over it where the public has many questions that Mr. Obama doesn't answer. We hear his followers vehemently refute all questions with the word racist. How about a few straight forward answers not supplemented by hidden closed comments. Mr.McCain associations we can scrutinize because its open to the public. Mr Obamas associations are always denied and then admitted to the point of becoming ridiculous. I fail to trust someone that lies so openly and then has an pithy of conscience. I have found that the ones so willingly and eagerly to throw racism into the mix are themselves the most guilty of this flaw in human nature.

The endless circle of charges that can not be refuted,

If Obama is honest, why is he hiding what we don't know about him?
If he is not connected to terrorists, why does he deny his connections to terrorists?
If he has a legitimate birth certificate, why can't he prove to us it is legitimate?
Fortunately for our country, the choice of telling dreary lies about Obama,
rather than inspiring facts about McCain, did not lead to stalemate.
it has led to victory. -

LOL stalemate...without a doubt Barack Obama is the most vetted candidate for President of ANY country EVER. You think the republicans haven't examined every single aspect of this man's life? I know I have...I know more about him than I did Bush or Clinton, or reagan...by far. They know how many times this guy has farted, are you kidding me? Just because you're not aware of the real life of Barack Obama and rely on emails sent to you from senile 75 year old McCain Campaign workers, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Your just blinded buddy, you see what you want to see, and you shut out the rest. My last post on any topic discussing Senator Obama's name, this is silly...you Republicans have a tough road ahead in these last 21 days if this is all you got and ACORN...lol! None even knows what ACORN is you guys just keep yelling fraud like your a bunch of sheep. Again I ask the real question America is asking itself right now as Obama's number soar and McCain's drop like a rock...and that is...who is the real John McCain?

Wolfe, you don't know $hit about the "African-American" community and how they worship or think politically. Although I am Muslim, my father was an African American Christian. I would go with him from time to time to churches that his friends would invite him to. During that time, most of the sermons that I heard sounded alot like Rev. Wright. Its not Black Nationalist to preach do things for yourself, don't take hand outs, to ponder what has been done to us by European-Americans and then move on and overcome it, to hold the country responsible for atroscities that were done on both a governmental and private scale. Naw brah, "That One" is Christian. The fact that he didn't conform to an Anglo idea of what that is really pi$$es you off doesn't it.

I believe Obama was being raised as a Muslim when he lived in Indonesia. When he left there he went to live with his grandparents and we haven't been told what religion he practiced until he turned up in Chicago. There he joined Rev. Wright's pseudo Christian Black Nationalist congregation. Which he most likely joined for political reasons. No, I really don't think Obama is a Muslim or a Christian. I think he's a Marxist and Marxists don't need religion.

In his autobiography, Dreams of My Father, Obama relates how he got into trouble for making faces during Koranic studies, thereby revealing he was a Muslim, for Indonesian students in his day attended religious classes according to their faith. Indeed, Obama still retains knowledge from that class: Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times, reports that Obama "recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them [to Kristof] with a first-rate accent."

This article is bull$hit. First off, neither one of Obama's father figures were practicing Muslims or else one wouldn't have died an alcoholic and secondly they wouldn't have married an atheist. I am a proud Muslim and my parents sent me to christian schools while I was growing up. That didn't make me a Christian and just because dude went to a few Muslim schools doesn't make him a Muslim. Furthermore, no Muslimw would've gone to a church for over 20 years, regardless of the theology it taught.

Poor guy is in denial.
Reply
The story just said he received some schooling in Islam like you did in Christianity. The only problem with that is Obama denied that he was ever raised Muslim. It is his denial that is the problem not what he learned in school unless he denies it. Then people wonder why the lie.
Look at the typical class warfare that liberals always push. Who gives the people jobs? The poor? Who pays the taxes that corporations pay? Their customers. How do you impose a hidden tax on everybody? Tax corporations.
How does it work? Taxes are on the expense side of the ledger. Part of the cost of doing business. The accountants make sure that there is decent profit after ALL expenses (including taxes) have been paid. The costs to the customers are adjusted to account for this.

I guess I'm way in the minority here, but I don't give an airborne rodent's behind what religion the man is...but then, I've never been so narrow in my thinking as to actually believe only religious people can be moral. History of full of prime examples of how utterly immoral the most religious among us can be. Have you ever met anyone who has had personal contact with Barack OBama. I have. All have come away with very positive feelings about the man and his sincerity. One is a lifelong republican that has held high elective state office and actually chaired the state republican committee. That person says that Bush, Cheney, and Rove have destroyed the republican party and that McCain and Palin would be worse. That's a pretty condemning statement from one who is close to the issues.
