Now she’s the subject of a nude portrait, unveiled Thursday and drawing crowds to the Old Town Ale House on Chicago’s North Side.
The four-foot-tall oil painting depicts the current governor of Alaska standing atop a polar bear-skin rug in her living room, nude, except for a pair of red stiletto heels and her trademark eyeglasses. In the picture she leans on an automatic rifle while beaming a megawatt smile. Behind her, a window looks out onto a pristine Alaska landscape, complete with a moose that has just ambled into the frame.
The portrait fits right in at the ale house, a dark and famously dingy bar frequented by Second City performers and crew, whose walls are adorned with more than 200 paintings of bar regulars and well-known Chicagoans, often engaged in various sexual acts. The Palin portrait has quickly become the bar’s star attraction, drawing a steady stream of picture-snapping admirers. According to the hand behind this and the rest of the paintings, former golf hustler and bar co-owner Bruce Elliott, his latest piece is even pulling in regulars from rival establishments. The reason as to why they chose Palin to paint nude while other former presidents and presidential candidates have been passed up is because the fact is, if they painted any of those people the viewers would be forced into ungodly acts such as alcohol comsumption, drug addiction and suicide to block out the images. ;P

The biggest decision Palin has each day is to decide which pair of glasses to wear? Intelligent, I don't think so? Her interview with Katie Couric proved that if she did prepare in advance for the question she couldn't use her intelligence to answer it. I didn't think asking what magazines she read was a difficult question but apparently for Palin it was. Don't give me the crap that she purposely didn't answer properly because she thought the questions were assinine. I guess some people think that asking Palin about Constitutional Amendments wasn't a proper question either for a possible Vice President?
As far as her morality, she was found guilty of overstepping her executive duties in trying to get her brother-in-law fired and now there is word that the contractor who built the ice skating rink in her town, also built her home for FREE when she was mayor.
As far as being a natural leader, I agree with you. I think she is a natural to lead a group of hunters to kill polar bears, moose, wolves and whatever other animals she feels like slaughtering. I bet if we went to her home we would see several animal heads mounted on her walls. Not animals that were killed for food but for the fun of it. That's what she calls FUN! I call that SICK! -

There is no need to be crass and obnoxious about any part of this election. If I thought for one moment that this bar behavior reflects the majority of Democrats or Obama supporters, I'd be even more offended, but I'm certain that it does not. Merely the intellectual midgets amongst us, and there are plenty of those to go around, in both parties, and around the world. Most Dems I know - and that's an awfully lot, actually - would not find this to be either titillating or interesting. Herd mentality is not really a part of our make-up, thankyouverymuch.

I don't think it's that big of a deal... I can definitely understand those who think it's sexist, and I'm not one who necessarily thinks she's qualified to be VP, but come on... She's beautiful (though not in the painting, haha), and people have photoshopped her head onto a naked body so many times, I'm not even sure why this is big news.

I have a problem with the media of any kind making a big deal of gender in the presidential race. I don't see any nudes of Obama, McCain, or of any other male candidate runnig for any office. In defense of the women that have the courage to run for office of any kind, should do so on their merit not how sexy they look, or if they made their way up through some sort of sexaul encounters. I work in a service related industry. Even before this photo came out I have had church going family men young and old say they "are voting for McCain because of the hot number he chose for a running mate." I was shocked when one very devout born again Christian man that teaches Sunday school said he "wants to f--k her." Sarah Palin doesn't appear to me to be much of a parent nor a Christian. A parent who exposes her pregnant child to national disdain, and drags her handicapped baby to 12:00 p.m. events is more politian than parent. She obviously did not "choose" to have a handicapped child. Since she doesn't believe in abortion, there is no choice involved.
