Moose falls from helicopter »
Posted By JamesMarcus 1 year ago in NewsIt turns out the moose that died Thursday in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, was dropped from a helicopter.
Wildlife officers had moved in Thursday to relocate the young bull moose after it was spotted roaming near the town of Pictou. They feared the animal might cause a traffic accident. A spokesman said officers shot the animal with a tranquillizer dart, then hoisted it by helicopter. By the time it was lowered to a waiting trailer, the moose was dead.
The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources initially said the endangered moose likely died of a combination of drugs and stress. But on Friday,a spokesman for the department admitted the net that held the moose came loose from the cable as the helicopter took off.
"When the moose was first put into a sling for transport, it fell approximately 12 or 15 feet when being lifted by the helicopter," said Dan Davis. "We wanted to let people know that," he said. "We don't know at this point, but it may have contributed to its death."

Comments like this truly show a person's age. It's bad enough that we have politians do this sort of thing, and to think that people who make comments like this help to choose a new elected officail. It's no wonder that this country is in the shape that it is in.

The moose did not die from the helicopter and the stress it has is caused by that coservative moose killin the moose was so stressed...it got out of the cable and jumped when it heard the knews about that moose killin tramp.....somebody should drop you saditob, out of a heli and maybe that will knock some sense into your Nazi luvin moose hatin head!!!!!!!! -

Sarah and her brood like to shoot moose from a plane for fun...whatta great group of true blue sportsmen aren't they?....so I think that it's not such a leap for Sarah and her multi challenged crowd to shoot a dangling moose from a rope under a heliocopter. "EYYYYY did I get 'im Taaaaaad?"

All joking and political pot shots aside, this is really a sad story. I feel bad for those involved because they'll likely be blamed no matter how it is handled now. They shouldn't have lied (or omitted anything) about its cause of death. By not being completely forthcoming about the fall at the beginning, it brings into question everything they did. I am sure it was a devastating incident for those involved in the attempted relocation. The people who work for these agencies do so because they want to help the animals, not kill them. And for them to be the instrument of death in a relocation attempt would be devastating. Especially concerning an endangered species. I feel badly for all those involved, from the moose to that died to the guy who rigged the net that failed. No winners here.

How can you take an article that was totally not about politics, turn it around, add your biased, partisan based opinion and a little flare about either candidate saving the moose or the moose landing on the VP candidate?
Do you people have nothing better to argue about than which candidate would have saved a moose? Or which should have been killed by it? Why don't you spend your time debating the real issues.

My knee jerk reaction was to make a comment about Sarah Palin, but not because of my political stance. Just like if a kilo of cocaine fell out of a helicopter, I'd make a lindsay Lohan joke. Its an easy connection to make, that's all.

I agree that a lot of the political debates are ridiculous and I agree 100% that the arguments should be about the issues.
