White House Officials - Get Palin Off Ticket? »
Posted By plaidlemur 1 year, 2 months ago in Political NewsAccording to Kathleen Parker, of National Review fame, White House Officials have confided in her that they indeed want Sarah Palin off of the Republican ticket for President. This is hardly shocking that some would say this behind closed doors– we all know how absolutely disastrous it would be if Sarah Palin were to have any policy influence, and be in line for the nuke codes– but it is surprising that it has leaked out. Kathleen Parker is a fairly reputable source, although she does write for the National Review.

Another funny piece from the Colbert Report.

Kathleen Parker is honest, and correct, about her feelings regarding Ms Palin. It appears the only real fans of Ms Palin are indeed hockey Moms, hunters, and Joe Sixpacks.
Unfortunately for her, tho, is whether Joe Sixpack has a mother, or a sister, or a girlfriend, as many of them, according to the polls, are going for Obama.

Its unreasonable to suggest removing her from the ticket. Its too late, shes on the ticket and shes there to stay, for better or for worse. If you take her off the ticket then McCain would be ruined, he would anger the base, the evangelicals and a lot of Republicans, while showing poor judgment and little resolve to the independents. It would be a lose-lose situation for McCain.

It already is a lose-lose situation. The only thing throwing Palin under the bus would do is change the lose-lose to a different lose-lose.

McCain would irk the RW religious nutto base while looking someone sane to thinking Americans. However, that alone would not be enough because thinking America has already left the McTitanic and one more major flip-flop aint gonna bring us back.

The post is a report of an unsubstantiated allegation by a National Review writer and columnist in a public interview. The post isn't unsubstantiated, the post is merely a reporting of an allegation.

If true, it would be highly, highly interesting, right? It's coming from a source with a long list of White House contacts, so it's not some out of the blue, completely unreasonable scenario that she paints.
