The problem with your argument is that Jeremiah Wright is much more a patriotic American than Palin and her goofy preachers. One only has to look at what Ronald Reagan's Asst. Secy. of Defense has to say about Wright to see how degenerate the GOP has become.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a True Patriot
By LAWRENCE KORB and IAN MOSS
In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines. In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)
The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation. What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.
While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections.
Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?....
.... How many of Wright's detractors, Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly to name but a few, volunteered for service, and did so under the often tumultuous circumstances of a newly integrated armed forces and a society in the midst of a civil rights struggle? Not many. While words do count, so do actions. Let us not forget that, for whatever Rev. Wright may have said over the last 30 years, he has demonstrated his patriotism.
(Lawrence Korb and Ian Moss are, respectively, Navy and Marine Corps veterans. Korb served as assistant secretary of Defense in the Reagan administration.)

The problem is what happened to him after that part of his life.

Why would someone with that background say that the CIA created AIDS to kill black people.
Why would someone like that say G-D America?
Why would someone like that pastor a church where the congregation swore allegiance to Africa?
Why would someone like that say that whites in America were keeping the blacks under their yoke.
Answer - He learned about James Cone's Black Liberation Theology that teaches that the Bible and history shows that blacks are held in subjection by whites and blacks are trying to liberate themselves from that yoke. That turned him from that hero into what he became. A racist hate filled anti American.-

Probably because of things like this:
Using Human Beings as Laboratory Anima
For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis. These men, for the most part illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama, were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Informed that they were being treated for “bad blood,” their doctors had no intention of curing them of syphilis at all.
The data for the experiment was to be collected from autopsies of the men, and they were thus deliberately left to degenerate under the ravages of tertiary syphilis—which can include tumors, heart disease, paralysis, blindness, insanity, and death. “As I see it,” one of the doctors involved explained, “we have no further interest in these patients until they die.”

And don't forget the 1200-1500 Nazi scientists that were incorporated into the American Armed Forces at the end of WW!!, Didn't matter if they worked in the camps or not as they had valuable info on how to inflict pain or brainwashing.

Hell Ken Kesey got free acid courtesy of the US Navy in 56, and he became the worlds biggest acid head; and for those who figure that dope automatically makes you braindead, he later wrote "Sometimes a Great Notion" and "One Flew Over the Cockoo's Nest"
Go figure.

You're asking all the wrong questions (they've all been asked before, including dozens of times by you, and debunked). Try these:
Reply
1) Why does the beauty pageant runner up who likes to shoot defenseless animals a lot think she's above the law?
2) Could the average con shill being paid by the McCain camp to post horsecrap online be found guilty of abusing their power and then skip merrily along the next day as if nothing happened?
3) Why did it take Sarah 5 years of criss-crossing among 3 colleges in three states to get a journalism degree?
4) Why can't someone with a journalism degree think of what the names of sources she reads to stay informed when asked by a broadcast journalist in an interview?
5) Why was someone with a journalism degree caught like an Alaska moose in a shotgun sight when asked by that same journalist what her running mate's qualifications are?
6) Can Sarah Palin read?
7) Given the state of America today, aren't cons even remotely concerned that, in voting for Sarah Palin, they could possibly be voting for someone even dumber than Dan Quayle?
8) Whatever happened to Dan Quayle?
9) Why don't cons want Sarah Palin to be interviewed (even by the right wing media)?
10) Why are cons so confident about voting for her in a few weeks (by which time they will have known John McCain's dizzy, winking trollop of a vp choice barely two whole months) and yet they can't stop whacking off out of frustration over what they don't know about Barack Obama (who's been campaigning for the last two years)? ;-(

depends on where you look. A Patriot, I think NOT. A little sample of the Patriot Rev. J. Wright's sermons.
Reply
WRIGHT: And they will not only attack you if you try to point out what's going on in white America, the U.S. of KKK A."
He regularly mocks black Republicans as sell-outs.
WRIGHT: They live below the sea level, they live below the level of "Clarence Colon" and "Con-damn-nesia."
In his first sermon after September 11th, 2001, Reverend Wright said the U.S. had brought on the attacks with its own terrorism.
WRIGHT: We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant?! Because the stuff we have done overseas is not brought back into our front yard? Americans chickens are coming home to roost.

The sad truth is that neither the Reverend Wright nor black liberation theology is being misunderstood.

I don't know I see some truth in what he says. People are getting upset because they are reluctant to admit that there are very strong race problems still existing today.
Reply
As Mr King said very aptly "Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual"
I would say that many White Americans (excuse the racialization of these terms) are completely blind to realize that everything isn't OK. Because White's don't really face the issue of race in such a direct way as visible skinned Americans, they assume that what has happened in the past is a matter of the past - and that everything is now 100% fine. This isn't the case, Whites still hold a very large degree of power and this hasn't changed with time - they continue to hold the power, and only those who conform to White culture and expectations are allowed to have some power. If Obama wore traditional garb of his African ancestors, I can bet you many Americans would see him unfit to be president.
his statement about 9/11is very apt. I'm an atheist and I couldn't agree more with his sentiments. It's very very true and I think it takes a lot of courage for him to actually be so vocal and to say that. I don't agree with everything he said, but that statement that you posted right there hits the nail on the head.-

Do you mean this ?
"WRIGHT: We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye. Because myself, I see that as an honest statement, only many Americans don't see it that way.
To most Reps they are Knights in shinning armour coming to our rescue ( no emotional in there though)but they are not, and what many have failed to realize is the have meet their Agincourt.

Well Red, I suggest you have a look at what our military leaders of the time had to say about dropping nukes on Japan. They condemned the immorality of our corrupt politicians, especially Truman. Kind of interesting to learn that Jeremiah Wright is on the same side as Dwight Eisenhower.

1980 During the campaign most polls showed the two major candidates locked in an even contest. The election produced a different picture. The Republican team of Ronald Reagan and George Bush was swept into office in a landslide victory with about 51% of the popular vote (and 489 electoral votes) to Carter's 42% (49 electoral votes) and Anderson's 7% (no electoral votes). Here is the faith in McCain. The dumbocrat dribble and kindergarden whining is unbelievable. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Racism knows no color. There are White racist,Black racist,Brown racist, ECT. To some it is a hatred, to some it is distrust, and to others it is a tool of deceit. The last thing the USA needs at this time is an Amateur. There is no time for on the job training. More Socialist debt is definitely not what we need. Research what and who you vote for, check your resources, do not buy into the hype, think and reason for yourself. Being what one "guppy" called an old f*rt, I have already survived this type situation(Carter years), and really shiver at the thought of having to go through it again. Therefore the inexperience definitely concerns me. The Socialist leaning is a big red flag. Obama's record shows nothing to recommend him. Pretty words and rhetoric may soothe the soul but do nothing to solve problems. They came out of the Communist Handbook. A persons judgment or like there of says a lot.
