BREAKING: FBI investigates ACORN for voter fraud »
Posted By lovemylibs 1 year, 3 months ago in NewsThe FBI is investigating whether the community activist group ACORN helped foster voter registration fraud around the nation before the presidential election.
A senior law enforcement official confirmed the investigation to The Associated Press on Thursday. A second senior law enforcement official says the FBI was looking at results of recent raids on ACORN offices in several states for any evidence of a coordinated national scam. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Justice Department regulations forbid discussing ongoing investigations particularly so close to an election.

ACORN is riding dirty in this election. Here's another article that explains how deep the ACORN roots run in this election season. They took the primary from Hillary and gave it to Obama:

Of course, my fellow liberals will be appalled at the reports that ACORN had a hand in voter suppression.-

Every day this seems more and more like a deliberate conspiracy to steal the election. Thankfully it is being exposed now, but it may be too late to stop over a million fraudulent Obama votes.

One needs to ask whether the 2006 election also was stolen by such massive voter fraud. -

Doubtful, Libby. Most folks (irrespective of party identification) who are capable of doing a bit of research realize that voter fraud is a mythical Jabberwocky of a beast:

FTA:
"RNC General Counsel Sean Cairncross has said he is unaware of a single improper vote cast because of bad cards submitted in the course of a voter-registration effort. Republican campaign consultant Royal Masset says, "[I]n-person voter fraud is nonexistent. It doesn't happen, and ... makes no sense because who's going to take the risk of going to jail on something so blatant that maybe changes one vote?""
Oh, and the two "articles" you posted to support your idea that "ACORN is riding dirty in this election" don't offer any evidence whatsoever, other than that the FBI is conducting an investigation (of which they are not giving any details). In fact, the "article" you posted in your reply (from The Daily Journal) isn't even an article - it's a letter written to the opinion section by a reader! Let the record show that one Jimmie L. Hollis of Millville, NJ doesn't like ACORN.
I've heard that Senator John McCain doesn't like them much either. Or maybe it's just that he was "for them before he was against them." -

Obama Manager: ACORN Criticism A "Cynical Ploy" To Suppress Turnout
Plouffe acknowledged that ACORN was hired last spring to canvas in states like Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania. “It was to augment our grassroots organization so that we could try and generate as much turn out as we could,” Plouffe explained, but said that only volunteers and campaign staff are involved with registration.
He charged that the Republicans are “suppressing” and “intimidating” voters in various states, making it harder for people to vote.
“What this is, is a strategic and cynical ploy to in some ways to denigrate all these people who decided to participate in their democracy, to sow confusion out there in a deliberate attempt to try to decrease turnout,” Plouffe argued.
“This is just the start of what is going to be a deliberate and cynical attempt to try and create confusion, to challenge people inappropriately.”

A representative from ACORN is going to be the Cavuto Show. Guess what he is going to say - McCain is trying to suppress voter turnout with these accusations against ACORN
Looks like ACORN and the Obama campaign have already coordinated the response-

The only thing that's "coordinated" is the effort to smear ACORN. See my posts above for more links on the subject.

Anyone who thinks there has been massive voter fraud orchestrated by ACORN doesn't know what voter fraud is. First there is no voter fraud investigation. The investigations involve fake REGISTRATIONS submitted by ACORN employees. ACORN sorts applications and puts the suspicious ones into a separate pile for review. The employees who have padded their work with fake applications are fired. The applications are disqualified. ACORN calls the home of every applicant to verify their information. AND FAKE PEOPLE CAN'T VOTE. Does anyone really expect Darth Vader to show up on election day? You've been DUPED by the GOP smear machine. Feel better now?

DonJose, this voter fraud investigation is not "NEW". They screamed about the very same thing in 2006. ACORN was under investigation by the U.S Attorney of Kansas City, Bradley Schlozman. For the same reasons you just listed DonJose, It went nowhere. It is not fraud if a volunteer cheats you. ACORN is legally bound to submit every card signed. They screen as many as they can (thousands) but when the registrar finds some illegal ones, here come the cons screaming FRAUD! Funny how rejected cards in republican districts are not considered 'fraud' but just innocent mistakes.

((The facts still stand)) Exactly what facts? I’ve seen lots of accusations but no facts. The real “socialism” is the social welfare system for big business; does any body here know how to use a dictionary? You should look up “fascism” or corporatism; either certainly describes many aspects of the USA today.

As for Acorn and wide spread voter fraud: B.S., There is no evidence in support of these allegations and I’ll bet in the end there won’t be any more evidence against Acorn then there is for G. W.’s WMD’s in Iraqi. -

“Barack Obama never organized with ACORN,” reads one of the banners on Barack Obama’s Web site, “Fight the Smears,” www.fightthesmears.org.
Reply
One apparent aim of the site is to distance Obama from the controversial Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, whose operatives are being investigated for potential voter fraud in at least 13 states.
“Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer,” the Web site continues.
“Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
“Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.”
The accuracy of these denials depends in part on their lawyerly wording, on “what the meaning of ‘is’ is,” in former President Bill Clinton’s sophistic phrase.
No one has accused the Illinois senator of having “organized with ACORN” or having been “an ACORN community organizer,” so these denials seem either misplaced or sleight of hand to distract from what his actual ACORN connections have been.-

What were the connections? Post the facts?
The two connections I understand was his representing them in the past as part of a DOJ program and his working with some subsidiary of ACORN that helped to pass a motor-voter registration program (which is obviously not a partisan thing as I'm pretty sure both Repugnant Cons and Democraps drive).

Toni Foulkes, longtime Chicago ACORN leader and a member of ACORN’s National Association Board, says the organization “invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office.”
Reply
Obama did give training to ACORN leaders every year from 1993 until at least 2003, when Foulkes published an article saying these things about him in the winter 2003 issue of the journal Social Policy.
Obama also reportedly helped train the staff of a high-ranking ACORN leader Madeline Talbott, later arrested for heading up a disruptive confrontation between ACORN protesters and the Chicago City Council described in a recent Newsmax investigation. -

ACORN spokesman Lewis Goldberg is referenced in the Oct. 11 New York Times as acknowledging that, in Times’ reporter Stephanie Strom’s words, “Mr. Obama conducted two leadership training sessions of roughly an hour each for ACORN’s Chicago affiliate over a three-year period in the late 1990s. He was not paid for that work, Mr. Goldberg said."
Reply
So ACORN now says that Obama did training for the organization. But because Obama did these training sessions without pay, and because to hire means “to employ someone for a wage or fee,” it is technically correct to say he was never “hired” to do so.
ACORN both selected and paid Barack Obama as a lawyer in 1995 to sue the state of Illinois to compel implementation of a law known as Motor-Voter. ACORN, however, now says it was only one of several plaintiffs in the case and hence that it would be wrong to say Obama was the organization’s lawyer. But ACORN was the lead plaintiff, and therefore the case is recorded as ACORN, et al. v. Edgar (then-Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar).
In 1992 Obama became Illinois’ statewide head of Project Vote, a 501(c)(3) organization that is required to be nonpartisan to retain its tax-exempt status. The Obama campaign Web site says, “ACORN was not part of Project Vote.” Critics argue that the reverse is true.
In fact, Obama said during a speech to ACORN leaders in November: When “I ran the Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it -

Veteran journalist Karen Tumulty and two of her colleagues described Project Vote in the Oct. 18, 2004, issue of Time magazine as “a nonpartisan arm of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now” after interviewing its national director.
Reply
And the co-founder and then head of ACORN itself, former Students for a Democratic Society new leftist Wade Rathke described Project Vote, in 2004 as one of ACORN’s “family of organizations.”
As Newsmax reported last week, Rathke spun off nearly 100 legal entities from ACORN and moved large amounts of money among them. Rathke left the organization this year after it came to light that his brother had diverted almost a million dollars from ACORN coffers.
Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt told the New York Times that a significant part of Project Vote’s revenues today flow to ACORN and various of its affiliates as payment for services. But LaBolt contends that Project Vote and ACORN were not as intertwined in 1992 when Obama ran Project Vote. This month, LaBolt has been telling reporters that Obama had never been “an ACORN trainer.” -

It “wasn’t until after Mr. Obama’s tenure had ended that (Project Vote) began to conduct projects more frequently with ACORN than with other community-based organizations,” Project Vote founder attorney Sanford A. Newman wrote in a letter to the Wall Street Journal. Note that this lawyerly letter never denies Project Vote’s deep involvement with ACORN.
Reply
“To say that Obama didn’t work for ACORN is just playing word games,” wrote Matthew Vadum of the Capital Research Center, co-author of an investigation titled Barack Obama: A Radical Leftist’s Journey from Community Organizing to Politics.
“It would be like a Sam’s Club employee indignantly insisting he didn’t work for Wal-Mart,” Vadum said. “It boggles the mind why anyone would deny such easily verifiable facts.”
Obama’s critics say he has been remarkably successful at burying his ACORN past until now, in large part with help from liberal allies in the national media who refuse to scrutinize Obama with the same probing investigations they aim at his opponents.
In a story reminiscent of George Orwell’s dystopian novel “1984,” whose hero works in a government office rewriting history to erase Big Brother’s past mistakes, the Oct. 9th Cleveland Leader reported, “Attempts to hide evidence of Obama’s involvement in ACORN have included wiping the Web clean of potentially damaging articles.” -

The above-mentioned Foulkes article that discussed Obama’s training of ACORN leaders recently was pulled from the Social Policy Web site, the Leader reported. Although this makes information about Obama’s past harder to find for journalists and voters, the Leader noted, scholarly duplicates of the Web retain copies of such texts despite any Orwellian efforts to rewrite Barack Obama’s past.
Reply
Los Angeles Times reporters Letta Tayler and Keith Herbert tried to clarify Obama’s past and found getting a clear fix on him elusive.
“Further blurring the picture,” they wrote on March 2, are Barack Obama’s “descriptions of community organizing in his youthful memoir, ‘Dreams From My Father,’ in which he admits he disguises names, creates composite characters, switches some chronologies, and uses ‘approximation’ of dialogue.”-

Nice try 'clsassano' but it doesn't work anymore. The country is finally (thank God) tired of your guilt by association crap.... He knew someone who knew someone who was seen with someone who shook hands with someone who was in the same room with someone who lived in the same neighborhood with someone who was photographed with someone who was seen with someone who donated to Obamas campaign.... Well Golly! how can we possibly trust this man now?? Time for you cons to crawl back into your bunkers and plan for 2012.

As our country is today. It's OK if we have voter fraud as long as it's to the advantage of the Democrats. If this Acorn voter fraud were all aimed at the Republicans instead of the Democrats. I'll bet even CNN and MSLSD would be reporting on it!

Just think, how would the media be reacting if this voter fraud were all in the name of the Republicans instead of the Democrats, Democrats who get a pass on any and all wrong doing. Not only would the media be going completely insane over it. I'll bet we would have riots in the streets over it. If it were the Republicans, there would be pure hell to pay. But since it's the democrats involved with the fraud, then most all media and news sources simply ingnor it! Folks, our country has gone to SH*T. We have been over taken by the insane left.

This Voter Fraud is much more then simple (allegations)
The Democrats are well on their way to destroying the American Democracy. I hope your party is very proud of themselves. Proud to be the party who may bring down democracy in our country. If democrat voter fraud were left unchecked. Then our votes would no longer mean anything. Winning an election by voter fraud, is the first step towards Communism or at least Socialism. If left unchecked, then in theory, the democrats could hold onto power for ever. Leaving us with a one party government. Is that really what you democrats are hoping for? You better be damn careful what you ask/hope for, you may just get it!
Democrat voter fraud is going to make a mess of the elections to the likes we have never seen before. If you think Florida was a mess in the last elections, then how do you think it's going to be this time, when we have at least 14 states involved with this democrat/Acorn voter fraud. The election results could be placed on hold for investigations, for God knows how long. The Democrats have really made a freakin' mess this time. I really hope all you Democrats are proud of what your party has done.
