Sarah Palin No Longer a Factor »

A very good example of John McCains inability to make a sound decision.

McCain acts like an Old, Angry, Disillusioned, Tired 26 year Corrupt senator looking to get over on Americans once again.

Palin a self proclaimed dog with lipstick and corrupt husband Dude are a major disgrace...

The Good people of Alaska deserve to have Honest decent Public servants represent them.

Palin and Dud fit into the same mold as the two major Deceptive liars, BJ bill and hillary Clinton.

What a bunch of Corrupt PIGS...

    How sad....

oh, Palin's still a factor. just a negative factor.

she still can rally the base, which seems to be her one and only role these days as she goes out and preaches to the choir using her six phrases over and over like she's a pull-string doll.

but she's not winning any new converts, and overall she has been a negative to McCain, and continues to be.

My own father, a veteran, was initially leaning towards McCain. but the more my father learned about McCain's sure-to-fail policies in economics and energy, and the more he listened to and liked Obama's plan and his demeanor, he moved towards the left.

but then Palin happened and that was it. last week he sent me an email saying he was disgusted with McCain's choice of Palin, that Palin was a sorry excuse for a strong, intelligent woman, and that he had already voted absentee for Obama.

and I'm sure this is happening out there more than the GOP would care to admit.

Sarah Palin is definitely a factor in this election. It shows that John McCain doesn't make good decisions. She still is not qualified for the job.

Palin has become a liablity for McCain and this nation. However, she is a factor in a different way.

She is a dangerous person; people like Palen who justify inciting hatred and racism threaten our country.

She has helped launch a return to the political tyranny characterized by Joseph McCarthy. Instead of accusing Americans of communism, she and others in the GOP are using accusations about terrorism to undermine the reputations of loyal Americans.

This form of despicable behavior will limit the ability of Americans to address its most serious problems. But what is worse, is that it is creating an atmosphere of hatred. It empowers the worst fringes of our society, the hate groups, the KKK, the skinheads, and neo-nazi factions.

It may even lead to the assassination of high profile leaders. Unfortunately, this is not something new to our nation.

A Letter to the Progressive Democatic members
          (DSA) Democratic Socialist Of America
          news letter Aug.17, 2007

"I'm not saying criticism of Democratic candidates is out-of-bounds; obviously, criticism is important, but let's keep it constructive. Constructive criticism is a useful persuasive tool, and we are strong enough as a Socialist organization that we can use constructive criticism to make our politicians better -- we've done it before, and we can do it now.
In the end, we have to take a long view. We have to be concentrating not merely on what strategic move will help our preferred candidates win the Democratic party next year, but on what we can do that will help our eventual nominee, Barack Obama, win the general election and build the New Democratic Socialist party and pull it in a more progressive direction. Rhetorically cutting up into little pieces those Democratic candidates who don't match our own individual, exact specifications doesn't do that, and it won't help your preferred candidate win
To promote leftist agendas. "Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party," "We work with those movements to strengthen the party's left wing, represented by the Congressional Maybe sometime in the future ... an alternative national party will be viable. For now, we will continue to support progressives who have a real chance at winning elections, which usually means left-wing Democrats."

            (DSA) Democratic Socialist Of America
            news letter Aug.17, 2007
While recognizing the critical limitations of the Obama candidacy and the American political
system, Democratic Socialist believe that the possible election of Senator Obama to the presidency in November represents a potential opening for socialist and labor movements to generate the critical political momentum necessary to implement a progressive political agenda. We know that a proactive Socialist government can come only on the heels of a broad coalition for social justice united against a reactionary Republicanism as well as a Democratic neoliberalism. Such a movement will also have to fight for a public finance system that can limit the power of corporate fundraising and lobbyists over both major political parties.
Thus, DSA offers its Economic Justice Agenda and its “four pillars” as a framework for such a
progressive policy agenda. This program calls for:
            1. Restoring progressive taxation to the levels before the Reagan administration and
            enacting massive cuts in wasteful defense spending;
            2. Enacting single-payer universal health insurance and expanding public initiatives in child
            care, elder care and pension security;
            3. Passing the Employee Free Choice Act as part of a broader effort to rebuild a powerful
socialist labor movement capable of achieving equity in the labor market; and
            4. Implementing a U.S. foreign policy that promotes global institutions that advance labor,
environmental, and human rights and regulate transnational corporations.
True democracy is not about one woman or man promising change for the American public. That takes consistent pressure from below. Who holds the presidency does matter, if only as a more accessible target for pressure. A Democratic presidency and Congress would also create popular expectations that rising inequality and injustice will be curbed. If the Democrats frustrate those hopes (as they did in the early 1960s), mass mobilization is likely to grow rather than subside.Nor should the Left be so involved in the national presidential campaign that it ignores the fall primaries and general election races for the U.S. House and Senate. We need more progressive socialist in Congress as well as increased Democratic majorities.
The November election can’t be the end of a fight, but its beginning, and connections made on a
local and national level leading up to November can position the Socialist party to play a role in struggles to come.

Look at all of the liberals think that whatever bad things are said of Palin they are not bad enough so they have to pile on more lies. What a group of whiners. Keep in mind that Carter was in the lead with polls until a week before the election. Then we had the best President for the second half of the 20th Century. Ronald Reagan. He served for two valuable terms. His policies took the stagflation of Carter and turned the economy around and created an economic environment that lasted until now. It took the Democrats creating CRA and other banking regulation changes championed by ACORN plus the Democrats blocking any reform of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to kill the financial situation. Thanks a lot liberal Democrats.
