TMJ disorder is a jaw disorder that causes intense pain. The disorder involves the temporomandibular joint which is the joint connecting hinge mechanism between the base of the skull (temporal bone) and the lower jaw (mandible). People who suffer from TMJ disorder have problems fully opening their mouth because this motion is extremely painful for them.
