Powell is his own man, it was his choice and I respect his choice even tho I will vote for McCain. Although I have not lost any respect for Powell for his past accomplishments, I am nonetheless very disappointed in Powell for making the choice to abandon his party and a comrade in arms (McCain). As far as his comment about Palin's inexperience, he himself had no experience in government when he was chosen as Secretary of State. And for that matter there are/were lots of inexperienced people that were elected to President and other high offices as well. So lets don't get so one-sided about this, both parties are guilty of the same thing.

Very true tho. Yet the right will continue to overlook that she pretty much made a mess of anything she touched. A town of under 8000 and she needed an administrative assistant?? ROFLMAO. Klarissa the more you post the more it seems reality has no meaning to you.

Perhaps Powell feels the presidency is more important than merely supporting his "comrade in arms (McCain)"

Guess so ... He said he made the choice because he feels that we need a new, fresh young face leading the country because of all the young people out there. He also said Palin is inexperienced, etc. ad nauseum. He then said that on the other hand (or other face) that he would like to have McCain in power in a time of crisis and when experience is needed ... 'nuff said.

ad nauseum? He said she was to a distinguished woman and to be admired, but he didn't think she was ready to be president.

"So lets don't get so one-sided about this, both parties are guilty of the same thing."

you wish both parites were guilty of the same things. and I'm sick of cons saying this when they have their backs agaisnt the wall.

its the "we're all in the same boat" arguement, and its straight out of the con playbook.

the first play is denial. when that doesn't work, which it usually doesn't when facing reality, this is follwed by accusations levelled against the other side that are equal or greater in magnitude (this part is objective, since to cons being gay is worse than being a meth addict, so the level and magnitude of the accusation is in the eye of the beholder)

hence, the "we're all in the same boat" arguement.

                well, guess what. we're not.

and that's why Powell endorsed Obama today. he knows the difference. he knows that two people can live through the same thing yet both can come out of it with very different levels of experience. and when it comes to the parties, he knows both parties aren't guilty of the same things.

with this endorsement Powell is clearly pointing a finger of blame, and that finger is aimed right at the GOP.

and llike a real man and a true patriot, he was willing to admit his own party's faults and cross party lines to do what's right for his country.

Powell is getting his dignity back for what he did to America when he lied at the UN in the lead up to the Iraq war. and this was a tremendous first step.

Kinda like what Lieberman did when he left the chitty Democrap party....Was he a real man, too, NOWay or just when it's convenient to make your stupid Osama talking points....Liberman got tired of the far lefty approach your party had taken and frankly got tired of the lefty experience....It wasn't the party of JFK anymore....It was the party of whacky, PC, liberalism.....

Typical democrap thinking. Rob from the rich to give to the poor or rather rob from everyone paying taxes and give to those that are not paying taxes like the 40% that don't. Obama is going to lower taxes on 95% of Americans. How is he going to do that when 40% pay no taxes. Guess what, he's going to spread yours and my wealth to those 40%'ers ... hah

Confused, con...You're very, very misinformed. Obama is going to lower taxes on the 95% of Americans who pay taxes and raise taxes on those who Bush lavished with obscene war time tax cuts. And you wingnuts say nothing when your tax dollars are wasted in other ways so you really need to just shut up about how you're being hosed by the "40%". It's really disgusting and pitiful they way you uneducated people yak yak yak about tax cuts and "socialism" when you know SQUAT. ;-(

As usual you forget the real history. Many top democrats, including the Clintons supported Lieberman during the primaries. His own state democrats voted for the other guy, which is there right. When he declared himself an independent and ran against the party's endorsed candidate, he naturally lost most democratic support. It was primarily republican crossover that elected him.

big difference: we all knew lieberman wasn't a dem. so he wasn't really crossing the aisle. and if you had one ounce of brain activity going on in that thing sitting on your shoulders, you might have been able to surmise that for yourself, rather than having me teach you yet another lesson.

but when lieberman did move to the right, I thought he was finally showing some balls. and I'm glad he finally sacked up and was honest about who he was.

so yes, Lieberman admitting to himself and the world who he really was did prove that he was finally being a real man.

                        so there you have it.

                        f*cked you up again.

dam that was easy. as always.

He didn't change parties, not yet. He said the Reps were going too far right.

He doesn't need to get his dignity back. Dignity is a trait you carry within yourself. It isn't given to you by others, he never lost his. No one can take it from him, or you. It is yours to unhold, or give away. He was a soldier and did what a military man does, he followed his commander in chief. When he knew he had been lied to, he spoke out. His dignity and credibility is and has always been intact.

and dignity is the wrong word.

integrity. thats what I meant to say. he lost his integrity.

he lost that the moment he got in front of the entire world at the UN and lied his assss off for his bosses.
