    Intelligent post, right up to when you said socialism, then you fell into the catagory of moron.

    When will you republican shills figure out that republicans presided over the greatest redistribution of wealth in the history of the world, from the middle to the richest 1%?

    And again, 700 billion to the richest banks in the world just last week.

    Republican = Socialist.

    Whenever a filthy con is throwing socialism around as an insult, you can bet he's got his hand in the government till.

    John McCain never worked a day in his life he wasn't paid by the government, as did his socialist father, and his socialist grandpappy. Military money is socialism, government dole.

    Freaking repugnicon hyprocrite, you soldiers think your so wise, but your just brainwashed into obeying any and all orders from a commanding officer. This isn't thinking. You worked as a soldier? Where do you think your money came from?

    YOU'RE the socialist. Democrats are trying to lower taxes and provide healthcare to soldiers, and the middle class, and you idiots are voting for socialism for the richest 1% . You just can't get any stupider than that.

      no wealth was "redistributed to the wealthy from the middle class." that's just democratic talking point partisan BS.

      democrat? lower taxes? in the same breath? every plan that O has come out with raises taxes. stupid? if you vote democratic, you deserve it.

        No wealth has been redistributed to the middle class from the wealthy?

        Why do you suppose there is a greater concentration of wealth in the hands of the top 1% in this country than at any time since the Gilded Age?

        Why do you suppose that for the first time on record, the economic expansion (such as it was) of the period between 2004 and 2006 failed to raise most Americans' incomes above their previous high?

        Every plan McCain has come out with raises taxes or direct costs to the consumer, on those struggling most.

        I won't call you stupid, though, as you did to antibrainwasher. Your comment speaks for itself.

          Ha! You know what I meant, but for the record, that should read:

          No wealth has been redistributed to the WEALTHY from the MIDDLE CLASS?

            If you vote McCain, you should be on a plane on your way to Iraq to die for Bush's vanity.

            Well put "amervtrn". I do believe that Colin Powell is an honorable man and he has done much for this country.

            However, just like anyone else, that doesn't mean that every decision he makes is fair or right.

            However "antibrainwasher", you obviously have no idea what a socialist is.

            Although there are different types and degrees of socialism here is a clearer definition from Wikipedia: (And other sources will tell you basically the same things)
            ====================
            Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century WORKING CLASS POLITICAL MOVEMENT. Karl Marx posited that SOCIALISM WOULD BE ACHIEVED VIA CLASS STRUGGLE and a proletarian revolution which REPRESENTS the TRANSITIONAL STAGE BETWEEN CAPITALISM AND COMMUNISM.

            SOCIALISTS MAINLY SHARE THE BELIEF THAT CAPITALISM UNFAIRLY CONCENTRATES POWER AND WEALTH AMONG A SMALL SEGMENT OF SOCIETY THAT CONTROLS CAPITAL, AND CREATES AN UNEQUAL SOCIETY.

            All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.

            Socialism is not a discrete philosophy of fixed doctrine and program; its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. Another dividing feature of the socialist movement is the split on how a socialist economy should be established between the reformists and the revolutionaries. Some socialists advocate complete nationalization of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; while others advocate state control of capital within the framework of a market economy. SOCIAL DEMOCRATS PROPOSE selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies combined with TAX-FUNDED WELFARE PROGRAMS; Libertarian socialism (which includes Socialist Anarchism and Libertarian Marxism) rejects state control and ownership of the economy altogether and advocates direct collective ownership of the means of production via co-operative workers' councils and workplace democracy.
            ======================
            I CAPITALIZED the parts that you clearly don't understand. I'll put some of it here again.

            "SOCIAL DEMOCRATS PROPOSE selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies combined WITH TAX-FUNDED WELFARE PROGRAMS"

            "SOCIALISTS MAINLY SHARE THE BELIEF THAT CAPITALISM UNFAIRLY CONCENTRATES POWER AND WEALTH AMONG A SMALL SEGMENT OF SOCIETY THAT CONTROLS CAPITAL, AND CREATES AN UNEQUAL SOCIETY."

            This is CLEARLY Obamas plans. He has clearly stated that he thinks that things are currently UNFAIR and that it is "Only fair" to "Spread the wealth around".
