Rush Limbaugh Continues His Attacks on Colin Powell »
Posted By capj71 1 year, 1 month ago in NewsToday on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh continued his attacks on Colin Powell. In Limbaugh’s mind Powell’s endorsement was about race, and pressure from the black elites in the Democratic Party. Limbaugh also made the claim that as Sec. of State, Powell damaged the Bush administration.

So mr. 'I got a pimple on my butt so I can't go to Vietnam' is all upset that Powell, who served honorably in the military, (unlike a certain Navy pilot, who after destroying FIVE aircraft thru negligence and almost SINKING a US AIRCRAFT CARRIER spills his guts to the North Vietnamese and uses his connection to his daddy the admiral in return for preferential treatment ), says he supports a man who has demonstrated a steady temparment in the face of outragious racist provocation, while he has seen someone he worked with for 30 years degenerate into an erratic old fool more interested in winning a prize to show he's better than his daddy and granddaddy (haven't we seen this story already, for the last 8 years?). Yeah.

I am so troubled by the ridiculousness of Powell's endorsement. If Powell had endorsed McCain, Limbaugh would be talking about what an amazing and distinguished career Powell has held. In addition, he would be saying "Look at that, everyone, Colin Powell endorsed McCain despite being black!"

Limbaugh is a fool.

I vote for the best candidate regardless of party affiliation. This time it's McCain. Limbaugh hasn't had an original thought since he started talking as a baby. The things he says that ARE right, well .. are right to begin with. Although I admonish Powell for his endorsement, I still respect the man. Limbaugh is going way too far with this one IMHO.

these 2 peole don't even belong on the same planet. powell should be recognized for his long tern , continuous, service to our country as a whole, with morals and values we should all aspire to. limbaugh should be shipped off to a 3rd world country, and left on his own. our country needs everyone to pull and work togethr, recogniziong all of the things we have in common, in stead of fueling fear, hatred, and divisiness amoung others. -

Only the likes of Rush Limbaugh could take an endorsement by Colin Powell and turn it into something negative. Although, I have no doubt that Colin Powell knew full well the firestorm his endorsement of Obama would bring and the direction people like Rush Limbaugh would take. It was too obvious. Honestly, I'm surprised that he decided to come out and say it out loud. Were he not black, I think he would have endorsed him much sooner than he did. But because this was the obvious rebuttal from the right (since he is black, endorsing Obama is made into nothing more than a black man endorsing another black man), I really thought he'd just stay silent and not "endorse" anyone. His refusal to endorse McCain had already pretty much conveyed the same message to quite a few of us who were watching him anyway. I have to say I have a lot of respect for him for doing it though, especially knowing the obvious backlash he would face as a result.

Don't speak for me. I don't let ANYONE make up my mind for me. That is the difference between the radicals in this country and the THINKING population that comprises the rest of us. And I HAVE listened to him.......MANY TIMES. I think its important to see what the radicals are saying so I know where their heads are at.
Haven't you ever heard the term "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer"???? That's what that means. I am NO fan of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Pat Robertson, etc., but I do pay attention to what they are saying and, more importantly, what they are doing. Ignoring them is far too dangerous for the country. The radical fringe are too dangerous to ignore.

If you want a good laugh listen to Rush.

Powell is one of the smartest people this country has and if he had run for president he would have won.
Frankly I was not surprised with his endorsement. He stated his reasons for both candidates and took the logical choice. -

Rush is not a racist! He just wants the best for our country in whole. All you liberal faggots and "black people" can't see that because you either have a crack pipe blocking your vision; or you have imbilical cords so far up your ass, you've become deaf, dumb, and blind during the strangalation of your perverted minds.

this is what i believe... none of the people that hate rush-ever listen to him... they are blind to reality and will follow their media to the ends of time.

rush is a good and decent man... a man that believes in life over aboration-believes people can make it on their own w/o the government- he believes in our country and our military men and women... he believes life is all you want to make of it... and yes rush has had personal issues.. but my God, who doesn't.... and he has done everything in his power to improve his situation....
so when these individuals get fuming angry at the mention of his name... i know they have never ever listen to him.... really listened to him.... cause they would know- he is not a radical- he is not evil... he is a God loving/fearing man that believes in the american dream- loves this country and wants only good for it...
the people that hate him- can never hurt him- they are lost and misguided by what they think they know.... -

The unfortunate truth of the matter is that the Bush Administration damaged Secretary Powell's repuatation, not the other way around. It was the low point of Powel's distinguished career when he presented to the UN the Bush administrations' onesided case from unreliable sources about Sadam's WMD program.

Rush is right. He offered an analysis of Powell's decision and it wasn't an attack.

I heard Powell's interview a couple of months ago and he basically said it would be difficult choice due to the historic nature (race) of this election. -

Rush is first and foremost, a liar. He recently stated face to face to one of my friends at an event in FL, that his main concern is keeping his ratings pumped and that he was hoping Obama would win, otherwise he'd have a much tougher time keeping his program interesting.
Reply
Rush also never hesitate to moralize in spite of his own well-known shortcomings that most of his listeners don't know about or are in denial of. He isn't called a chickenhawk for no reason.-

After all it was his seething hatred of Clinton that brought him real fame. Without a foil he is nothing. Of course he was ripping McCain not long ago too! And sucking up to the likes of Cheney. He is about as disengenuous as they come.

Oh dear me, is this the Rush Limbaugh [that's a french name for you] who ran away when he was called to the colors in the Vietnam War? He's casting doubts on the integrity of the US top General?

How bizzare. Never mind, Rushie boy could now insist he be taken as an enlisted grunt to make amends. -
