Limbaugh simply doesn't get it. Obama's candidacy is historic, yes -- but what has made it possible all along is that his campaign has been about transcending race, not wallowing in it.
Obama has carefully eschewed identity politics throughout this campaign. Meanwhile, the Republican campaign has been about nothing but. And it has its most transparent mouthpiece in Limbaugh.

Obama's candidacy is historic? Yes it is. It is the first time that a Socialist/Marxist has duped enough people to run. His inexperience, straight out of Biden's mouth, will guarantee major trouble.The USA's enemies are drooling at the thought of Obama. They love the naive inexperience weak amateur, whom they can run over. Where, there have been young leaders in the past, they had over a decade of (real)experience, yet we paid a price for it.

El Rushbo's commentary on anything dealing with minorities should be focused through the lens of his comments on Donovan McNabb, that McNabb was not a good quarterback and the press only focused on him because he was black, which was a bonehead comment that led to El Rushbo losing his "dream job."

The only thing that matters is whether Limbaugh's words are true or false or opinion. Dismissive attacks by his political/ideological opponents are words that yearn for meaning and substance but never quite make it.

And in case you didn't get the ACLU memo, the oxycontin thing was more about a deliberate invasion of Limbaugh's privacy. How you can ignore the court-admissible evidence that Clinton used cocaine while tracking an illegal invasion of privacy that turns up an abuse of prescription drugs is beyond me, or would be if you were not a liberal.

Only a confederate racist would call Gen. Powell a racist. He gave ample explanation as to why he will vote for Obama.

I can not for the life of me understand, how in the republican right , you are able to reconsile christian morality and the filth that your leaders spew. How is it at all possible to justify the hate that comes from the likes of Rush and the teachings of Jesus?

I will answer for you. It isn't. This is why you are losing, not only the presidential race, but many of the house and senate seats.
If republicans went back to (forward a better way) to some of it's original tenants, they would do better. But the divisiveness, and hatred, and hypocrisy of the republican party will continue to lose power until they start thinking about what is right for American and not what furthers the evangelical churches and big business. -

As I have said many times before, some people need to go back and study a lot of things we used to be taught in school, like the constitution, history,economics, ect. I too lived through the Carter years, what a disaster. What I am seeing at present it is going to be worse, I'm sorry but I am a realist. The determining factor of how much worse and how long it will last depends on how much more Socialist debt is piled on our backs. My battle cry is get the government out of the way, I'll get it on my own. I do not want or need a handout nor do I need you deciding who and how much I share with my deserving neighbor. Leave my rights as stated in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Socialism has never worked and never will, it is a haven for those too lazy to up hold their own responsibility.

Racism is insidious--it wears many masks. Limbaugh is a prime example of the bloviating yet "silent" race-baiter: he works through innuendo and suggestion, as in his claim that Powell endorsed Obama because both are black.

Racism is based, partly, on (irrational) fear of the Other-- just look at some of the posts on the thread. Vote for Obama, they say, and the country will be destroyed.
And feeding such fear is Limbaugh's main drive. -
