"Smears" About Obama Largely True »
Posted By Karlyc 1 year, 1 month ago in NewsThe Obama campaign says its candidate is a victim of “smears” — and has even created a Web site to fight such attacks.
But a Newsmax investigation finds many of the so-called smears are largely based in truth — and the Obama campaign uses half-truths, clever language, and ad hominem personal attacks to spin the facts.

Reeling from Joe Biden’s latest gaffes, the Obama campaign now is being shaken by these revelations.
Reply
More from the article:
visitors can see a chart naming seven groups and six individuals with lines that suggest multiple, sinister connections between them.
…
The Obama conspiracy chart links all of these conservative individuals and groups back to the critics who dogged the “Clinton 1992 Campaign.”
This may come as something as a surprise to Hillary Clinton, as many of the “smears” against Obama first surfaced during her heated primary contest with him.-

One of the smears Obama constantly rails against is his well known ties to unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. Despite Obama's constant vague denials the story will not die.
Reply
The article explains why:
"The Obama site acknowledges that its candidate and Ayers ”served on the board of an education-reform organization in the mid-1990s,” but maintains most stories about the links between Obama and Ayers are phony or exaggerated.
"It does not mention that Obama and Ayers worked together on the board distributing millions of dollars with the aim of radicalizing Chicago schoolchildren.
...
“Smear groups and now a desperate McCain campaign are trying to connect Barack to William Ayers using age-old guilt by association techniques . . .” says the Obama Web site.
Actually, McCain and Obama critics are questioning why Obama would continue to associate with a man who, as recently as 2001, said he did not do enough and wished he had bombed more. -

I grow so sick of your RepugniCons lies and smears, even setting up pseudo-news sites to spew your bile.

When Obama first burst onto the national stage at the 2004 Democratic Convention with his storing speech, I had my doubts. I thought he might be a transformational leader, someone capable of aspiring us to reach beyond our petty divisions and work together as Americans. But I also worried that he might just be a clever orator applying his eloquence to grab the reins of power.
Then Kieth Olberman offered up this clip. His high scholl teacher, Walter Schneller, had the duty of finding speakers for his school. For Black History month 18 years ago, Schneller invited an obscure 3rd year student from Harvard Law to speak at his school. ANd when you listen to the clip, Obama was talking even then about the same vision for reaching across party lines, racial lines, class lines, and uniting America to be all that she can be.

I'm so angry that the liberal media is ignoring what is in print about Obama; I could just about pee fire.
Reply
I found this story after looking up "who is Obama," after I saw him speak for the first time at a democratic convention.
In 1986 Obama negotiated a deal with an underground group to disrupt his opponent's campaign. Some of that included making sure that all of his oppents vehicles constanly had flat tires. Ayres was associated by making the connection between Obama and the underground faction.
That radical group became disorganised during their effort, as two of the "muscle" members left to join the WWF (now WWE). Financial hardships forced the bomb maker to rejoin the rock group Metallica as their pyrotechnician.
Obama lost that election, and to cover his ineptness, blamed it on the fact that being a "nationalized" American he couldn't be undrerstood, as he was unable to speak English properly.
Rumours from his personal aids have it that he declared he would return for payback on all Americans and some immigrants. -

Don't worry folks the economy is fundamentally strong! When we have a "tested" president (McCain) he will handle a crisis not like the untested Kennedy handled the Cuban Missile Crisis (perfectly), but maybe more like Kennedy's experienced opponent Nixon would have. Which would have had us all blown to hell.

From the article:

"Newsmax reviewed 10 random claims and related rebuttals posted on Obama’s ever-changing FightTheSmears.com to gauge their veracity. Here’s what we found:
"Claim No. 1: Obama's campaign is funded by the rich, big corporations and foreigners.
“Barack Obama was the only major presidential candidate this year to completely reject contributions from The Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs that have dominated our politics for years,” the Obama site says of the persistent online criticisms of its fundraising.
“Instead, this campaign has been owned by the more than 3.1 million everyday Americans who have donated in small amounts.”
Not so, according to campaign finance records. Nearly half of the $600 million raised by Obama to date has come from wealthy donors and special interests. Obama's allies months ago dropped their ad linking Republican rival “Exxon John” McCain to Big Oil after it came to light that Obama had taken far more money from Exxon-Mobil than McCain.-

Klarissa makes a good point. Your comments are on point and have real value to all the bright reasonable people on Propeller. However using all caps tends to make them more difficult to read, and it also seems like you are shouting.
Reply
I think most of us who have figured out what really is going on with Obama want to shout it too to get through to people who are not listening, or simply are too ideologically biased to listen to or accept the truth!!
But using all caps kind of makes the point get lost sometimes on those of who will read and care about what you say. -

THE GUYS IS A MARXIST/SOCIALIST/LEFTIST OF THE LEFT
Reply
Because he wants to roll-back the Bush Tax Cuts? McCain supports 36% tax on these 'rich' people. Not too much difference between 39%. So for 3% the guy is a marxist-socialist-blah-blah-blah?? Oh and didn't they both support the bail-out? Isn't that more socialist than a progressive tax scale? I'm mean they've basically privatized profits while socializing the risk. Or is that corporate fascism??
SPREADING THE WEALTH
Yes downwards preferably, as opposed to the last 8 years of spreading it up. -

But McCain wants to continue with essentially the same tax plan Bush adopted. Most of us "real" Americans are still waiting for stuff to trickle down on us and whatnot. So far there has been no prosperity and no avalanche of new jobs. Also, aren't we like 10 trillion dollars plus in debt? Shouldn't we be thinking about paying some of that down (like we did during the Clinton administration)? Bottom line, why would we want to continue Bush's failed strategies? ;-(

Wow...a right wing Obama smear site debunking a site dedicated to debunking right wing smears. How do you people manage to keep this nonsense up? If you actually took the time to look at fightthesmears.com you'd see that the Obama people have done a good, well documented job of combating the lies, innuendo, half truths, and downright slime you creeps keep regurgitating. I'm convinced that many of you that constantly perpetuate this garbage are just trolls and shills working for McCain or the RNC and will disappear soon after the election. You present yourselves as patriotic Americans but you really represent everything that's wrong with the country...mean spirited, dishonest, and just plain stupid, stupid, stupid. The whole right wing, neo-con lot of you should be rounded up and shipped of to someplace where you can interbreed to your heart's content. Like Alaska.

You're the one who everyone believes is a paid shill. Every time a good analysis of who Obama really is and where he will take the country - such as the NewsMax investigation - comes up on Propeller the same Obama herd crops up to comment bomb it.
The tactic fails every time as real people are very interested to learn what the Obama-enthralled media declines to cover.
There is nothing new in your comment and this is the end of my responses to your tactics.

Great article!! And people ARE paying attention. I visited with my two little 84 year old aunts last week....they were all up on Obama. They knew about Ayers and Jeremiah and Acorn, Rezko, the whole shebang! It was a hoot listening at them talk, kinda like whack-a-mole with Obama as the mole! One summed it up perfectly, "I don't trust that man!".

I DON"T TRUST OBAMA EITHER! If it were one or two people that he had misjudged in his life - that would be one thing. But everyone from his pastor of 20 years to his close friends and associates are either racists or terrorists or 'bad guys'! That either means he's really gullible or he's a wolf in sheeps clothing. It bothers me that the news media isn't doing more to investigate Obama when they did LOTS of investigating of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber!

You might as well give it up Bubba, these people are only interested in the slime, not the truth. They are the acolytes of such illustrious Americans as Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, and Fox News and have long ago lost the ability to think critically or to think for themselves. Barack Obama has been involved in the election cycle for 20 months and every one of these despicable right wing smears has been examined, dissected, vetted, discussed, and finally debunked and dismissed by intelligent people who actually know what they are doing. The article that started this thread brings absolutely nothing new to the table. It's just the same tired disingenuous drivel being presented with a new wrapper and the lemmings eat it up.

Read through the article and you can see how Snopes twisted the outcome with BO's own words. They tried to de-bunk it but, they know there is to much truth in the story.

The stupidity of the statement is mind-numbing. Polls ARE statistics. You are completely clueless about statistics or accounting statements for that matter, which is pretty evident from your claim that one should believe falsified reports. -

Ayers was never on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and he never made a decision programmatically or had a vote.
Reply
Ayers was at board meetings — which, by the way, were open — as a guest. That is not anything near "Bill Ayers and Barack Obama running the Chicago Annenberg Challenge".
Annenberg was a lifelong Republican and former ambassador to the United Kingdom under President Richard Nixon. His widow, Leonore, has endorsed McCain.
