FTA: "The Republican National Committee spent about $150,000 on clothing, hair styling, makeup and other "campaign accessories" in September for the McCain campaign after Palin joined the ticket as his running mate.
Reply
The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com."
Hmm, wonder if they are going to give them to "Goodwill-

The answer to your last sentence is yes, Goodwill and other charities and in fact they already started doing just that.

This is a non-issue at best, the reason being is that the taxpayers are not footing the bill but rather the RNC is footing the bill taken from donations, not taxes. I made a donation and what they do or did with the money is fine by me. -

REALITY CHECK
Reply
Obama - wealthy - has high quality cloths
Biden - wealthy - has high quality clothes
McCain - Wealthy - has high quality cloths
Palin - not wealthy - has regular cloths
What did the libs complain about as far as cloths.
Early on the libs criticized her clothing saying several put downs about what she wore.
When the new cloths were bought that stopped.
Now libs have to go ballistic because the RNC did the nice thing and bought cloths that matched the quantity and quality of the other candidates.
Such compassion.
Why do you have a problem with this. It is the Republican party giving her the ability to look as good as Obama and Biden. I guess you think she should wear the cloths you enjoyed criticizing. That is probably the problem. -

Uh Oh the Democrat(ic)s have really nailed Palin on this "issue" Her wardrobe to be on the national campaign trail. Jeez what were the campaign managers thinking? In a world of critics and T.V. coverage why would they get her a and her family a wardrobe? This is way bigger than Obama's ideology and past associations as well as his current Illegal campaign contributions from overseas. OMG wardrobe is so much bigger than Obama's "spread the wealth" with confiscated U.S. taxpayer money to those that do not pay taxes (50% of Americans do not pay Federal income taxes) philosophy.
Reply
OMG this is really so much more of an issue than Biden's being pulled off the campaign trail because of his statements that Obama will be tested by an international group in his first 6 months. OMG the RNC paid for cloths for their candidate to wear. This is BIG! REAL BIG! I mean it makes Obama's plan to bomb Pakistan look like child's play. It makes Iran's plans to wipe Israel off the map look like playing marbles in the Park. It makes the Bail Out look like making mud pies. I mean Palin's wardrobe makes Obama's ties to Radical Left wingnut William Ayers look like flying a kite. Palin's wardrobe makes Obama giving ACORN over $800,000 and Falsifying his FEC report claiming it was for Stage Sound and Lighting look like a kid making sand castles. THIS IS BIG! And the MSM are all over it and have dropped coverage of all of Obamas questionable past relationships it is so big. Palin's wardrobe is so big a deal that it completely overshadows Obamas plan to run every corporation out of the U.S. with excessive taxes and over regulation. The Democrat(ic)s have really nailed it with this wardrobe "issue" -

There is that Christian charity again n2n. The official residence of the governor is the building provided for her. Travel to and from that and expences when away from her residence is what EVERY governor gets. She did not charge as much as she could have charged. But you have to do the put her down don't you. Anything negative about Palin even if what she did is ethical and in keeping with what EVERY other governor does.

Why have the Liberals put her under such a magnifying glass. Why were hundreds of reporters sent to Wassilla? Why were all the lies that you gleefully posted on put on Propeller? Why has absolutely everything and anything been twisted to belittle her. And you gleefully go along with it. -

Perhaps when they averaged out all the costs of moving her family to the mansion, costs of all that security she declined, the costs maintaining the family in the mansion, the caterers, decorators, etc. they decided they were getting a bargan for her to commute.

Sarah knows how to reign in spending like McLame knows how to win a war! These two lying sacks of sh*t were made for each other!-

First, I don't understand this at all. How many of your major contributors pee money like this away daily? How much money was spent by the movie star, trial attorney, mortgage banker and insurance executives on Obama's campaign alone? While I think the costs are high, I am not offended but the investment. I am a contributor. Talking about investments, how much did the Obama camp spend on repainting the planes and buses? Especially repainting the "new" presidential seal.

It is one thing to give speeches about wasteful spending, government reform and being a down to earth hockey mom, but this is totally hypocritical.
Reply
I hope the Republican voters with any kind of brain are seeing the party for what it really is, deception, dishonest and corrupt. I wonder what they think about their contributions being used to cloth and accessories this family??
It now appears Sarah wasn't good enough for them in her "original" down home folksy style. She got an "Extreme Make Over" at the RNC donors expense.......you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig....... -

You people were the ones complaining about her dowdy cloths. She is not wealthy like Obama and Biden. She did not have an equivalent wardrobe etc. to theirs. So you liberals can get angry that the RNC put her on equal footing with those families.

The hockey mom shops at Neiman Marcus?
Reply
Nah, say it aint so. She spent how much on her makeup- $14,000? She spent that much on powder and lipstick? I guess she doesn't know that people are paying $4 for a gallon of gas and a recession looming. -

Tcaros8 months, 2 weeks ago
So, Sarah Palin gets in front of crowds in Pennsylvania and uses that "excited voice" with the "crescendo" to say she's just like us.
Reply
She stands there with her Neiman Marcus clothes and expensive hair and makeup job and appeals to our "American spirit." She attempts to fire her sister's ex-husband while governer.
She's like the Republican straight talk- a bunch of crap.-

DeauxNut8 months, 2 weeks ago
She didn't attempt to have the trooper fired, Todd did. And her explanation of that has been fully explained, was legal, broke no laws and followed the already established protocol.
Reply
This Friday - tomorrow - She and Todd are going to be deposed at HER request by an attorney representing the Personnel Board which, btw, is the proper venue, not the political and personal vendetta sponsored legislative panel. Please stop your mouth from cashing a check your butt can't cash.

This would be a non issue if she stayed with in the reality of the people she is portraying, i.e. the Hockey Moms, Joe Six Pack, the Middle America. If she had gone to Sears, JC Penny, The Gap, etc. then she wouldn't of exposed herself to being nothing more than a fraud, i.e. a pig wearing NM and Saks.
Reply
She should of stood her ground and said I am good enough as I am, if I change now then I am no longer who I am.-

Who is Michelle Obama portraying?? I keep hearing about her middle class upbringing
Reply
But she wore a designer dress at the convention. Her 2 daughters also wore dresses by the same Chicago designer
If course the cost of the clothing was never mentioned that I could find
Now I'm absolutely certain that most middle class families buy designer dresses for the young daughters, aren't you??
I also recall the article about a "snack" Michelle ordered - lobsters and Iranian cavier. Certain to be on the menu in most middle class homes , right? -

Job Losses Accelerate, Signaling Deeper Distress
Employers are moving to aggressively cut jobs and reduce costs in the face of the nation's economic crisis, preparing for what many fear will be a long and painful recession.
If you read the fine print "reduce costs", you know what it means? Jobs will be shipped to India & China.
McCain/Palin > unemployment > job losses > jobs shipped to India.
Obama/Biden> Tax cuts to companies who retain and create jobs in US.-
