Democrat Barack Obama's lead over Republican rival John McCain has dropped to 5 points, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Sunday.

Obama leads McCain by 49 percent to 44 percent among likely U.S. voters in the daily tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points. Obama's lead has dropped over the last three days after hitting a high of 12 points on Thursday.

    Make no mistake about it, the polls will tighten somewhat in this last week. To think that in this polarized nation that Obama could somehow defeat McCain by 12 or 14 points was ridiculous. The current average of most polls is around a 7 or 8 point advantage for Obama. I would look for that to close to a 4 to 6 point average by midweek or so.

      Isn't it funny how when polls say McCain is certainly going to lose, FOX broadcasts it far and wide as a call to voters to get out and vote while the Repugnant Cons say it's a liberal lie, but when Obama's losing his point-spread it's God's Honest Truth, but more than that it's probably McCain who's going to win because the liberal media's lying about the point difference.
