Its very difficult to believe that Palin is the new standard bearer in the Republican party. She's W in a skirt, just much less wealthy and without the good connections.
One would think that they would clue into what direction the population wants to move, and she's stuck in reverse.-

I think Sarah Palin WILL run for President in 2012. Whether or not she will be nominated is anybody's guess.

Palin's Assembly of God faith has ministries like Exodus (or - as I like to call it - homo no mo ministries) which work to convert gays to straights (we all know how that works out). They are also fervent last days nuts who would love nothing better than for Palin to usher in Armageddon. She is a dangerous woman.
Now some on my right may think that my view of her is overblown, but I don't think so. And it is the truth.
My hope is that cooler heads in the Republican Party will prevail. I hope that they would return to the core message of fiscal responsibility (a message that is more than just about tax cuts). I hope they reject the religious nutcase wing of the party....
But the religious right has been courted by the Republicans since Jerry Falwell darkened the door's of Reagan's Oval Office in the 1980s. They may nominating Palin, claiming that the loss was due to the John McCain muddling her message (yes, she does have a diva complex...)
In a weird way, I hope they DO nominate her. She will lose again, and the Republican Party will stay in the wilderness...until they realize that "divide and conquer" is NOT a strategy that will work with the American people anymore... -

McCain was forced to take Palin by the religious extremists in the Republican party. The question is what will happen to the GOP after McCain loses. Many moderate republicans are abandoning the party due to the extremist trends evidenced by Palin and it might be taken over by the extremists, who have lots of money.

Secretive Right-Wing Group Forced McCain to take Palin
The Council for National Policy , an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy forced McCain to choose Palin as the VP candidate.

The religious extremist groups supporting Palin have been growing ever since Reagan used them to restore militarism in the US and to eradicate christians in central america. They will not go away easily and may turn violent.

Palin's Connections with Domestic Terrorists
http://www.propeller.com/story/2008/10/26/palin39s...
The most compelling hypocrisy of the "terrorism" issue is Palin's own contemporary associations with fringe groups committed to themes of antigovernment violence. A number of reports have noted, for instance, Palin's association with the Alaska Independence Party (AIP), a group that is trying to get Alaska to secede from the United States. Largely unreported is the deeper extremism of the AIP and its national party organization, the Constitution Party. The Ayers story is a distraction from the real and ongoing relationships that Sarah Palin has with armed rightists, a story she invites with her vacuous allegations on "terrorism."
... The Constitution Party, formerly known as the U.S. Taxpayers Party (USTP), was founded in 1992 as an electoral vehicle for the growing vigilante movements that called themselves militias, as well as racists and violent antiabortion militants.
The origins of the national party go back to the American Independent Party of 1968, which was a joint effort of the John Birch Society and the Ku Klux Klan to run George Wallace for president. Various carryover elements, including the Birchers, led to the creation of the Constitution Party.
After the party was formed, a 1994 research report by Planned Parenthood, which was tracking antiabortion violence, characterized the group as "the new political home to a growing and unusual convergence of militant antiabortion leaders, elements of the violent and racist right, members of the John Birch Society and Far Right politicians."
...Sarah Palin maintained friendly relations with the Alaska branch of the Constitution Party for many years, according to many news reports. She attended their convention again in 2000 and in 2006 sought their support for her run for governor. In June 2008 she sent them a video wishing them "good luck on a successful and inspiring convention, keep up the good work and God bless you. -

Immediately after she was given the position the Liberal hate machine cranked up and started twisting anything and everything she said and did to tarnish her image. There were 1 to 3 stories on this site for over 3 weeks that were lies and the liberals had rhetorical orgasms over them. But they never ever admitted any of them were lies. Some like hyper still believe some of those lies. Then hayseed says "Those loyal to McCain believe they have been unfairly blamed for over-handling Palin." What a crock. I have never before seen so much vitriol poured out on any political figure. And you liberals think that all of those attacks were just fine. Conservatives bring up things in Obama's past dealings with organizations and people that are all documented but we are lying. Facts mean nothing to liberals it seems. Only emotions are the truth.

Same here. It won't do any good if the democrats get their strong Senate majority, either, because goofy harry reid will be running the show again. Not to mention Pelosi. And just like with bush, the'd let mccain get away with murder.

Palin's hubristic, diva-like sense of her own destiny and her willingness to say anything to further it is perhaps the scariest thing about her.
Reply
I'm reminded of her recent response to the Alaskan legislative committee's decision that she abused her authority as governor. She said she was happy that she had been "absolutely vindicated"....
Scary. -

Yeah Palin is a whack job indeed. She has said she is against sociaism. Wow what a frigging surprise since her crappy frigging state gets a whole lot of my tax money. Money Nevada does not get back because we have to pay it to All-Asska. They get about 1.60 dollars back for every dollar they pay in federal tax. I think this might just qualify as socialism. So just WTF does this stupid frigging woman think she is talking about?
Reply
Any one that thinks Palin is "All That" must be frigging brain dead because she is trying to pull one of the worst BS stories of all time.
Sarah Palin is nothing more than a lying A-Hole that will do anything to make her political chances better.
I am sick of Gov. Palin. The people of this country should be as well. If we are not bright enough to recognize a pile of crap when we see it then we will get just what we deserve.
If we elect McPain/Failin I'll be just another US citizen that pulls the chain and gets the hell out of this failing nation. And I will be taking my money with me. So I guess Joe the Plumber won't get my business huh? If there isn't any there won't be any. This means jobs, wages and all that goes with it. Unless Joe turns intoto Jose the Plumber. But I doubt that, he's a lttle to white uptight and leans right. This was another Repub set up I'm sure. I have seen too many since Nixon. I note the fools parade we have had since Bush took office and 9/11 happened. Just look at the TSA and the Dept. of Homeland Stupidity.
If the people of this nation are frigging stupid enough to elect McCain and his idiot VP then we are done. Just wait for it. It will go in the toilet. Read the history of the fall of the Roman Empire.
I don't plan to wait. I will be very gone.-

I agree with your assessment. Palin has no scruples. She has a set of religious values that she spouts out of one side of her mouth and then the other side is full of lies and slander.

Also, Ted Stevens is a lying scum bag. I'll be glad to see him go.
