ok, there is no excuse for ignorance on the internet;
so i looked it up.

The Mugwumps were Republican political activists who supported Democratic candidate Grover Cleveland in the United States presidential election of 1884.

      So what? I've said far worse (and heard far worse) while in Vietnam. And since. The effort is to keep this country from being run off a cliff. Been there, done that. Hurt like hell.
