While not a perfect candidate, of the names floated thus far, I believe Republican Senator, Chuck Hagel would make the best Secretary of Defense in an Obama Administration.

I've always had a soft spot for Hagel but that's not to say that I haven't been beyond frustration when he supported the Party line over - IMO - his own wisdom. But as far as serving in an Obama administration, I too would like to see his talents utilized. It may not be as sexy as Secy.of Defense, but I've always thought Hagel would be a great addition in Veterans'
