It's contemptible in both cases. All but the fringe on both sides have said so. That said, it's also free speech, a fundamental of the Constitution.

The Secret Service should investigate both perps to see if they really intend any harm to a candidate. But both do have the right to do it.

  In both cases it is a hate crime, both perpetrators should spend some time in jail if caught.
