A former secretary of state, Lawrence Eagleberger, and supporter of Republican presidential nominee John McCain says that McCain's running mate , Sarah Palin , isn't up to the task of taking over the presidency in a crisis but could become "adequate" if not "a genius in the job."

        This sounds like it might be the foreboding of a stolen election.

        We have a lot of headlines talking negatively about the Neoconservative Republican candidates, but, in the stories, they negate the headlines with lines like "...he [Eagleburger] was confident that Palin, Alaska's governor, was tough enough if called to serve."

        This is a reminder of what networks like CNN did to the election of 2000, when the coverage was fairly even up to the point when the Florida Supreme Court and eventually the USSC took over the election. Then the coverage turned totally against a democratic solution to the election.

        Yahoo News is not much noted for its thoughtful coverage, so would most likely fit into the CNN category of news reporting.

          But Eagleburger was one of the guys who are endorsing McCain. How sad that they can't endorse the entire ticket.

          Palin is a national joke.

          She is worse than Quayle.
