This is really, really sad. Can any of us imagine the pressure that Senator Obama is under right now? Wow! And yet, he remains, cool, calm, collected.

It just doesn't seem fair. With only hours to go before the election. Just hours before that title President might be his, and now she'll never have the honor of hearing or seeing it happen.

Honestly, my heart breaks for him today. On the eve of what could be one of the greatest days of his life, for this to happen, it just doesn't seem fair... -

I have read some comments and heard some reporters mentioning how dissapointed Barack Obama must be that his grandmother did not get a chance to see what the outcome of the election would be, I don't know but I think that he is likely more saddened by the loss of her than anything else. At a time like this the election and the speaches just become something that has to be done and I hope that people realize that if his heart is not in it, it is because he is a person who cares about people not just his grandmother.

Personally, I'd like to just skip the politics and give him my sympathy. It's hard to lose someone you love. Yeah, it's part of life and it's going to happen to all of us if it hasn't already; but in the immediate happening it's still hard.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with the Obama family through this time of grief. We had hoped his grandmother would be able to hold on to see her grandson gain the Presidency, but it was not to be, but she helped raise a man to be proud of and one who will take this country back on track to greatness - at least help us to gain back some of the respect amd credibility in the world we sorely need again. God bless the Obamas and help them through their loss.

The pain one feels is indescribable, yet pretty much the same for all sane humans. Unbelieable grief !!!! Mixed in with good memories, happy times, lessons taught, lessons remembered, love unending, questions as to why now ???, relief for the end of the persons suffering, yet remorse for their leaving.

For Mr. Obama this must be intensified as he struggles with the election day questions.
My prayers and well wishes are with him and his family, as they suffer through this disquieting time.
My wifes mother died recenly, she wanted to vote for Obama.
So my wife who is a McCain fan, is going to put aside her wants and do what her mom wanted. To honor her memory.
I hope the dream comes true !!!-

With due respect to Sen. Obama, it happens to all of us. My Dad died about two months ago of colon cancer. He was diagnosed about a year ago and was told it was terminal. They stopped chemo about a month before he died. Then it was just a matter of time.

The immediate grief is rough. There's a big difference between knowing something intellectually and klnowing it in the gut. But when one gets a chance to think a little more objectively, it's just part of life. We all are born, we live, and we die; it can't be any other way. It happens to god people, bad people; those we love, those we don't know, and those we don't care for. There are always lots of memories. But maybe the best thing any of us can do is carry on and live our lives as a credit to those who raised us.
