"Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

    FTA

"Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation's coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to 'bankrupt' our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.

As I posted on another thread:

Biden let the cat out of the bag but no one paid any attention:

Some great rope line video from Joe Biden's recent Ohio swing, where he was asked by an anti-pollution campaigner about clean coal -- a controversial approach in Democratic circles for which Obama has voiced support, particularly during the Kentucky primary.

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We’re not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama

Watch the video of Biden here:

"These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like 'I haven't been some coal booster' and 'if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them' are extraordinarily misguided."

"In addition to providing an affordable, reliable source of low-cost electricity, domestic coal holds the key to our nation's long-term energy security - a goal that cannot be overlooked during this time of international instability and economic uncertainty.

Few policy areas are more important to our economic future than energy issues. As voters head to the polls tomorrow, it is essential they remember that access to reliable, affordable, domestic energy supplies is essential to economic growth and stability."

The Obama strategy, held secret until now, will cause massive unemployment, and will increase the dependence on foreign sources of oil.

This goes right along with what The Obama said about $4.00 @ gal gas. It wasn't that "$4.00 @ gal was so bad but it just went up too fast". The Obama wants the middle class to suffer and he's got plans to do make them suffer.

Marxist socialists and their buddies hate the middle class and destroying the middle class is always a top item on their agenda.

Obama DID NOT SAY he will bankrupt the coal industry. His words are being taken out of context.

This is exactly what he said, and I quote.

"Sure, they can still build coal power plants, but I will fine any coal power plant to the point that they will go bankrupt"

Ya see, he didn't say anything of the kind.

He only said he plans on destroying the coal industry. So what does him saying that have to do with him saying that? I don't care that there's VIDEO TAPE of him saying that. He simply did not say it and that video tape of him saying he will bankrupt the coal industry isn't what he said. That's what he said, so he didn't say it, now did he?

                  abw,

If you and your ilk believe your own words, why didn't Obama hasten to get his SF Chronicle interview front and center when it took place?

This guy wants drivers licenses for millions of illegal Mexicans, yet wants his own aunt to get booted because "we are a nation of laws." And STILL you refuse to see how opportunistic and narcisistic this creature is.
