As an Obama supporter and criticizer of McCain, you do also have to look at quite a bit of his career prior to 2000.

The McCain speaking tonight was the pre-2000 McCain and it was a gracious speech.

Very proud of McCains speech as well. Little disappointed in the boo's for Obama coming from the crowd. That would be OK during a rally...but this was a concession speech that is meant to congratulate.

McCain was about as classy as he could be even during the campaign. A standout moment when he turned on the crowd in that town hall, who in turn turned on him. It showed the true face of his supporters.

Palin brought all of the negative with her and smeared it from state to state. When I saw her come on stage in Asheville, NC to the strains of "Redneck Woman" and then blast Obama as a Socialist, and a terrorist sympathizer, I knew American could not afford to make the mistake of putting her in the VP seat.

I think this is what kept the tide from turning. And the sheer negativity of the overall campaign on the GOP side revealed a certain desperation that did not contrast well with the hope Obama continually offered. He deserves major kudo's for always playing it cool. This is a different kind of leadership. Truly hopeful and optimistic. I already hear the grumbling from the Right this morning. But that's why they lost this one. They have just become curmudgeons. Let them go grumble in the corner with each other.
