Proportional voting would give some power to people that they can't control....this would be a good thing.

Unfortunately America is too far down the road of corporate fascism whereby all the money keeps funneling to the rich. This allows them to buy more companies,downsize and buy off politicians.
Obama will be a slight change but the strategy of the USA will not change much....with 120military bases and through the corrupt practices of the World bank and IMF continue to use their forces to prop up petty dictators who will turn over their resources to the multi-nationals. Exploitation maximized!!!!
This will pit them against the Chinese more as they also require resources. However the Chinese have a totally different approach. They will help develop the infrastructure in return for access to their resources. If I was in power and a just person who cared for the people of the country I would certainly show bias towards the Chinese plan.
