How about Instant Runoff Voting? It's the system they use in Spain, and in Parliaments, and some counties around the United States.

Basically, an IRV system makes it so they tally all the first-choice votes, and if there is no clear winner then they remove last place from the ballot and keep re-tallying everybody's next vote until there is one.
Had we have had this system in 2000, then Nader would have gotten his votes home, without the risk of being painted a black sheep.
