While i lost a lot of respect for him after his book "State Of Fear" came out, furthering climate denial all the way up to the Bush White House. he will still be missed for all of his amazing writing prior to it.

      You're very much correct Aidenag.

While normally we can and should separate out his creativity from his personal opinions ... he did use his influence to promote his personal belief that Global Warming is a hoax.

He actually became a sort of 'Science Advisor' to George W Bush and provided GW the talking points to use against Global Warming.

As if to prove what a small minded individual he was, he introduced a character into his book "NEXT" that was a critic of his stance on Global Warming. The character was a child rapist.

Again, I believe we can and should separate out his creativity from his politics.

If anything ... the disgrace rests more with George W. Bush for relying on an author of FICTION to fashion his position on SCIENCE.

I will be SO happy to see GeeDub go ... what a disaster.

He used science as a basis in most of his work. His science was a mix of real science and speculative sci-fi. But primarily he was a story teller and a good one at that. So I'll try to overlook his anti-global warming stance because I enjoy suspending my disbelief reading imaginative fiction.

An author you don't agree with dies and you have to take one last political shot at him. My goodness how the left is petty.

Rest in peace Micheal, will never forget your work.

What you describe as taking a parting shot is ... as my fellow Christian Conservatives describe it when they ... and you .... do it .... is called bringing out the story that Mainstream Media refuses to tell.

          LOL!!!

You know ... that Right Wing Biased Media?
