Glad someone mentioned Rev. Wright. Rev. Wright DOES, in fact, have God's ear, but, more important, Rev. Wright is God's mouthpiece in this world. Rev. Wright has been a prophet, speaking God's words of justice and mercy to the people in my home town of Chicago.

But you are wrong about God crossing any party lines. God doesn't belong to any one of our human parties. The question regarding God and our parties is whether we - and our parties - are interested in running with God or running away from God.

You know the story of Cain and Abel, right? It, like most of Genesis, is an allegory that tells us something about God and something about ourselves. Cain kills his brother and then runs away from God. God tracks him down anyway and asks, "Where is your brother?". Cain responds with a question "Am I my brother's keeper?" Most people seem to ignore the fact that God says emphatically "YES! You are supposed to care for your brother!" Indeed, Cain's lack of care of his brother results in God's condemnation. Rev. Wright is one of those people who does NOT ignore God's demand. Rev. Wright does care for others and admonishes other people to care for their neighbors too. And Barack Obama listened. And Barack Obama heard. And Barack Obama acted.

I pray that Pres. Obama will continue to listen, and hear, and act in the path of righteousness, always loving God and always loving his brothers and sisters and praying for his enemies.
