Posted By charlesd 1 year ago in SportsOk the first week for this years NBA rookies is in. I am going to speak my mind and yes I may be biased since I am obviously an OJ Mayo fan. Dave McMenamin is the writer for NBA.com’ s Rookie Rankings this year. He has OJ Mayo at the #6 spot for the first week. There wasnt much to go on as of yet so I cant blame him so much for this. However, saying 3.3 turnovers a game for a rookie (or anyone) who has played over 40 minutes per game so far and playing the shooting guard position is ridiculous. Kobe Bryant averaged over 3 turnovers per game last year in his “ MVP” year, 5 so far this year and just under 3 a game for his career. I dont see anyone say anything about that. Im not knocking Kobe I am a huge fan, im just trying to show that the turnover numbers come with the territory for his position.
