I agree too, but don't most "civilized" smokers smoke outside? Having lived in CA for many years.....I am a beaten down smoker who wouldn't dream of lighting up in a house....especially when children or elderly are around. I guess that common sense can't be enforced, hence the law! It's a shame, really, given all of the needy children.

I am a reformed smoker. Seriously, having them live in group homes is NOT better than living with a smoker. The things that go on in these homes is far more detrimental.

I might agree if there were so many homes for them to go to that we could start narrowing the field, but this isn't the case.
