Pendland's 4 TDs lift McNeese St. to 42-31 win

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) _ Todd Pendland rushed for a career-high 242 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown pass, to lead McNeese State to a 42-31 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday night.


Pendland scored on runs of 1, 39 and 4 yards, and caught a 37-yard touchdown pass to help the Cowboys (6-3, 3-2 Southland Conference) roll up 512 yards of offense.


Pendland's rushing total is the second highest in school history behind only Tony Citizen's 304 yards against Prairie View in 1986.


Jeremy Moses was 31 of 49 with 331 yards and four touchdowns for Stephen F. Austin (4-6, 2-3), which cut the lead to 35-31 with 10:05 remaining in the game before Derrick Fourroux iced the game with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Immanuel Friddle with 6:14 remaining.


Fourroux, who was 15 of 24 for 193 yards, also scored on a 1-yard run.


Stephen F. Austin's Duane Brooks caught 13 passes for 139 yards and a score, and Dominique Edison added 11 catches for 140 yards and three touchdowns.


Cornell Tarrant added 115 yards rushing for the Lumberjacks.
