We should be so lucky. Maybe if he did he would begin to have some empathy for thousands of people suffering in today's economy. But I doubt it, he'd just blame the Democrats and whine louder.

Question of the day: Who has run Congress (both houses) 52 of the last 64 years? Can you spell Democrats? Who created Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac? Who said in 2004 at house finance meetings that the sub-prime financial problems that the Bush administration and regulators were warning about at the meeting were called quote "Fear mongers and Racists." Can you say say thank you Barney Frank and democrats for your sniping! By the way, thank you Republicans for not having enough spine to point this out this year.

How very right you are! Starting about four years ago, and often since then, conservatives and the Republican side of the aisle, including President Bush, have tried to convince Democrats, like ole Barney, that allowing the big investment banks to purchase and rebundle suspect subprime loan instruments was financial suicide. You shouldn't loan that kind of money to people who you KNOW can't pay it back and you shouldn't allow banks to float the debt they said. Barney Frank and scores of free spending "everyone deserves to own a home" Democrats shouted from the rafters that Republicans hated poor people and minorities and were MEAN because they didn't want banks to carry these dangerous, bundled, suspect loans. Well, the Democrats were wrong then and they're wropng NOW. Some people DON'T DESERVE TO OWN A HOME, especially one they clearly can't afford. Of course, Democrats hate any suggestion that we all aren't exactly alike and should be treeated exactly the same and therefore shoved the banking law changes through anyway, with predictably disasterous results. If you want to REALLY place the blame where it belongs, look up Bill Clinton's changes to the banking laws through 1996. He and his administration so relaxed financial regulations regarding "newly created" financial instruments, such as bundling and subprime mortgages, that the eventual failure of the whole mortgage industry was virtually a certainty. Remember, the ENTIRE Congress has been under solid Democrat control for the last two years and since then we have seen $4.00 a gallon gas, the virtual collapse of the mortgage industry, the collapse of the housing market and, very nearly, the failure of the American economy. Now, tell me that's just a coincidence...

It was the conservatives that deregulated the industry to begin with. Phil Graham and his buddies started this. You stupid Republicans had total control for the first 6 years of Bush's presidency, you could have done anything you wanted and this is what you gave us. Stop whining and take credit for what you caused. Rush should have given her an economy car so when the gas prices go back up (and they will) she could afford to drive it.

Absolutely right on the money. If the republicans had anywhere near the involvement that the democrats had in this mess it would be on the NY Times front page every day.The republicans missed a great opportunity in this past election to get this point across.

Americans need to rise above the republicrats and the democans. I appreciate those who share the belief in America, still the greatest nation on earth. They only way we can fall is by bickering, pointing fingers and slipping into a negative fear mongering mode. Where do you stand? What does country first mean to you?

Maybe if all the stars bought somebody a car instead of staring in the mirror and snorting cocain waving their trendy Obama banners that would help at least a couple hundred . Hollywood is caught up in image and self . I don`t really like Rush but ya know that was a nice thing he did .

This was clearly a publicity stunt on Rush Limbaugh's part, but I'm wondering about this woman and the others like her.

FTA: "Much like Joe the Plumber, who John McCain made famous during his presidential campaign, Davis said that although her household would likely get a bigger tax cut under Obama's plan than McCain's, she hopes that her jewelry business grows and doesn't want to be punished by higher taxes if that happens."

These people are dreamers, completely out of touch with reality. She is receiving food stamps and can't buy another car when the old one breaks down, but she would forgo the tax break that Obama has promised because she is worried that one day, if/when she and her husband ever make more than $250,000, they may have to pay more taxes? It boggles the mind.

Obvious you didnt put much thought into what you wrote because that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Obama hasn't even taken office yet and you're already talking crap. Is it that difficult for you to give someone a chance? Majority rules. Deal with it!!
