I can't get enough satisfaction quoting famous beliefs in Hindu religion. Here is one:

"service to people is service to GOD". On holy occasions and even on death anniversaries of loves ones, Hindus feed the poor with food and water. According to Hindu beliefs, feeding the poor is feeding GOD and ultimate thing you can do please the Almighty.
It is common practice in India, that poor students are housed in charity hostels. They go door to door every night asking for left over food. Many families keep left overs and even keep portions for these students.
Are we not spoiled in USA?
