Recount to stretch into mid-December »
Posted By Ciera-Marie 1 year, 1 month ago in Political NewsMinnesota won't know who won the contested U.S. Senate race until at least mid-December, but now the final arbiters for the recount have been named.
They include a cast of heavy-hitters topped by Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Eric Magnuson, a former law partner of Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty, three other high-ranking judges and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, a DFLer, who made the selections Wednesday.

Here in MO, our electoral votes are still in suspense. It appears as though McC may have won them--he has something like a 5,000 vote lead. But ballots keep turning up--and they all have to be subjected to a procedure that seems akin to painting decorative eggs. Tune in next week.

Just like what happened in Washington State a few years back between (R)Dino Rossi and (D)Christine Gregoire...they will keep re-counting and re-counting and re-counting until Al Franken wins this election. That's exactly what happened in Wash.. The dems kept recounting and finding missing votes for ONLY the Dem party. Oddly enough, no lost votes were found for Rossi. Then Rossi demanded a second re-count for himself, guess what, he was DENIED! Dems got 3 re-counts in their favor, the Repubs got 0 recounts in their favor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the NEW America an a new classic case of voter fraud. Seems voter fraud is now acceptable as long as the fraud is in favor of the democrats. America is screwed if this is allowed to continue. We will soon no longer have a real democracy in this country. But I guess that's OK too as long as the ruling democrat party remains in power for ever. You may say how could that happen? It's quite simple, if the Republicans are cheated out of winning, then they may never win again. Sounds a bit like Cuba and Castro don't it!? Think my post is absurd, then you had better take a good look at what's going on in our country. I know right now it may be to the delight of the dems that things are going this way for them. But that delight will soon fade into...WHAT THE F**K HAVE WE CREATED, WHAT HAPPENED TO OUR COUNTRY!?-

4thchance did you a. read the article? Have you read anything regarding the recount that wasn't on Foxnews?

Here is how it works in Minnesota. When a race ended as close as it did on Tuesday 11/4/2008 in MN (and for the record in MN it doesn't matter what office both parties are running for.) it is mandatory recount. Doesn't matter that one party thinks they've won.
For the record, the reason Franken got more votes in his favor after election night is because a. one election judge called in 100 less votes for him b. another election judge had 30 votes in her car for him and only called the Coleman camp to ask what should she do b. errors in counting were fixed.
If you think the recount won't also benefit Coleman you're mistaken. And while we're on the subject of Coleman if he was in Franken's shoes he'd be supporting the recount and be in a dither about being shorted votes. So don't scream this all the Dems doings.
With the entire Nation and the world watching this election every vote will be counted. When the counting starts at each location it will be open for the public to observe. I've also submitted a Q & A with MN Secretary of State Mark Richie that explains the recount process, when it'll start, who will do the counting, where, what will happen if it's contested.
This recount benefits both parties and I must say is a better process than what happened in Florida regarding the tie. It was decided by a. flip of a coin and then b. pick a number between 1 & 10.
A mandatory recount is not voter fraud, nor is it shades of Castro and Cuba. This is democracy at it's finest and shows prove that every single vote does count. If voter fraud is suspected ask yourself why election judges were stiffing Franken?
You're just scared and surprised that Franken a. is did better than your party thought he'd do and that control of the senate rests on this race. Lets just be honest.

Oh sure, ballots in favor of the dems are being pulled out of the woodwork, form all over the place. Oddly enough, no new ballots in favor of the Repubs are being found. Hmmm....is all this just some kind of "impossible" coincidence? NO, it's a clear cut case of VOTER FRAUD. NOTHING ELSE can explain this lop sided load of BS.

I heard that when the recount happens each ballot will be looked at to determine voter intent. It was mentioned that if the voter voted democrat for the most part but either did not choose to vote for the senators race or voted for the republican candidate they will change the vote to Franken thinking that since the voter went democrat on most of the ballot then they must have wanted Franken for senator.Interesting if true.Minnesota wants Franken in BAD.

aroslak regarding your comment implying that only Franken will benefit, not so. They will do the same for those who didn't completely mark the circle for Coleman. Votes for both candidates will be tossed. I submitted MN Secretary of States Q & A where he also talks about this very thing.

I've read and listened to what MN Secretary of State Mark Richie has to say.
In MN if after the recount Coleman wins then so be it. If after the recount Franken wins then so be it. Everyone I've talked to living here wants the recount.
I find it interesting that you ignored the poling places that called in incorrect counts that were in Colemans favor, the election judge who had 30 ballots in her car (all were for Franken) and she called Colemans camp to ask "what do I do?" Those were the same ballots that Coleman went to court to try and stop from being counted.
Coleman if he was in Frankens shoes would want this recount.
Again it's MN law and doesn't matter the political race.
Stop trying to say something is happening here that isn't.

No...it's more like what we suffered through with that pathetic bastard that was "appointed" president rather than actually elected. Do some serious investigating of the 2000 and 2004 election results in Florida and Ohio and then tell me he actually won both or one or "none" . Oh well, it really doesn't matter anymore...he's "overdone" lame-duck now! -

this recount is a joke--they'll fiddle with this till franken wins..just like wash..the count went back and forth till the ball fell in the right dem slot..same here..and the results will be justified like the jury nullification in the OJ verdict..one of the 100 vote swings was from some poll worker who "found" votes in the trunk of her car...and these can be counted?? please..the fix is in..the socialism express arriving on track 3

The Republicans are whining because their guy is being contested so heavily by a comedian.
Well we've all known for years the real clowns were the extreme right wingers.
Whoever wins at least there was recount that wasn't by A Bush brother. That actually has chance to be fair.
