Rather?s Lawsuit Shows Role of G.O.P. in Inquiry »

Posted By TechnologyExpert 1 year, 2 months ago in Political News

When Dan Rather filed suit against CBS 14 months ago — claiming, among other things, that his former employer had commissioned a politically biased investigation into his work on a “60 Minutes” segment about President Bush’s National Guard service — the network predicted the quick and favorable dismissal of the case, which it derided as “old news.”

Using tools unavailable to him as a reporter — including the power of subpoena and the threat of punishment against witnesses who lie under oath — he has unearthed evidence that would seem to support his assertion that CBS intended its investigation, at least in part, to quell Republican criticism of the network.

    Questions:

    1. Did President Bush receive special treatment in getting into the National Gaurd because he was the son of an influential Senator?

    2. Does what Rather did matter to the above question, other than distract the publics attention from the above question.

Rather lost his job because he used faked documents in a report. What happens to the President who "Fixes" the intel around the fact that he is going to war?

    Nothing, move along.......

I think that the case has merit and I hope he takes it all the way.

This case is more important than many make it out to be. I hope Rather is vindicated and finds a just outcome in his current endeavors.

Rather was a fool. He wanted to believe the story so he went with it without getting the required confirmation. It takes a lot of effort to make a forgery that can't be distinguished from the other documents created at the same place and time.

Just like foolish people on this thread saying that Bush fixed the Intel. Crazy thinking since the rest of the world and the previous administration were all saying the same things. Bush either had intel that no one else had or he went back in time and cooked the intel everybody had.
