Communist Party strategist maps out Obama's agenda »
Posted By RedRiverJ 11 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsJERUSALEM The enactment of a "single payer" socialist health care system; passing laws to make joining a labor union easier; raising the minimum wage and increasing labor union support all these are just some of the policies the Community Party USA has mapped out as crucial for Obama to push through during his term of office.

FTA Norman Markowitz says "A stronger left that follows the tradition of the Communist Party,"
That's our direction far left toward a tradition of the Communist Party. Change we can believe in!
YES WE CAN!!!!!!!

Barack Obama is not a left candidate. This fact has seemingly surprised a number of progressive people who are bemoaning Obama’s “shift to the center.” (Right-wingers are happy to join them, suggesting Obama is a “flip-flopper.”) It’s sad that some who seek progressive change are missing the forest for the trees. But they will not dampen the wide and deep enthusiasm for blocking a third Bush term represented by John McCain, or for bringing Obama by a landslide into the White House with a large Democratic congressional majority.
A broad multiclass, multiracial movement is converging around Obama’s “Hope, change and unity” campaign because they see in it the thrilling opportunity to end 30 years of ultra-right rule and move our nation forward with a broadly progressive agenda.
This diverse movement combines a variety of political currents and aims in a working coalition that is crucial to social progress at this point. At the core are America’s working families, of all hues and ethnicities, whose determination to move forward does not depend on, and will not be diverted by, the daily twists and turns of this watershed presidential campaign. They are taking the long view. -

Well, RedRiverJ, this is another story to which all I can say is: So what? It outlines what Communists wish, want, hope, look forward to, pray for, long for, yearn for, and desire from the Obama presidency. It doesn't present one shred of evidence that these groups influence Obama at all, or even have any contact with him.
Reply
"Communist Party strategist maps out Obama's agenda"? You or I can outline his agenda just as easily, but the question is whether he would listen to either one of us.

The Democrat campaign successfully used these methods:
Reply
A Latin phrase which has come to mean attacking your opponent, as opposed to attacking their arguments.
Bandwagon and "inevitable-victory" appeals attempt to persuade the target audience to join in and take the course of action that "everyone else is taking."
Inevitable victory: invites those not already on the bandwagon to join those already on the road to certain victory. Those already or at least partially on the bandwagon are reassured that staying aboard is their best course of action.
Euphoria
The use of an event that generates euphoria or happiness, or using an appealing event to boost morale. Euphoria can be created by declaring a holiday, making luxury items available, or mounting a military parade with marching bands and patriotic messages.
Intentional vagueness
Generalities are deliberately vague so that the audience may supply its own interpretations. The intention is to move the audience by use of undefined phrases, without analyzing their validity or attempting to determine their reasonableness or application.
The intent is to cause people to draw their own interpretations rather than simply being presented with an explicit idea. In trying to "figure out" the propaganda, the audience forgoes judgment of the ideas presented.-

The endemic anti-intellectualism of the Modern Republican Party.
I find it interesting that Kowabonga's comments are ignored, but his age and college affiliation are pounced upon as being all the evidence one needs to demean his participation.
In my opinion, Kowabonga has as much credibility as RedRiverJ.
Let me rephrase that, I would trust Kowabonga's comments FAR more than RedRiverJ because RedRiverJ is so blinded by Right Wing Hatred for Democracy, he/she cannot possibly make a reasoned case about politics.
Kowabonga is studying the issues with fresh eyes, thinking about the issues, even collecting data points by viewing Propeller.
The truth be told, and in my opinion, given the chance, RedRiverJ and other right wing members here follow the same reference points as General Augusto Pinochet in Chile. A military dictatorship that represses liberals and intellectuals. And I personally believe that it would not take much prodding for these 'citizens' to take a step towards some form of violence towards those they disagree with.
It happened in Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, and Russia.
This is the blue-print for hardliners the world over. Whether they be hardliners in Russia, Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, .... or the United States of America.

The Democrats and Obama support one simple idea: Basic Human Rights for all Americans. Basic Human Rights; Each person regardless of position in society has the right to freedom, privacy, safety, an adequate standard of living, education and healthcare. ALL Americans should expect no less for its fellow citizens. If YOU do not value social policy that supports basic human rights for all Americans then YOU are following the path of Hitler.
Reply
If you feel you are entitled to something better than an adequate standard of living, healthcare and education than you can use the Capitalist systems to pay for it. We all know those who believe they are deserving of more than others. You certainly have the freedom and right to place yourself above all others but don't believe for a second the rest of us regard you in the same manner.-

So, extra taxation for people who have an education and have worked hard to make something of themselves; to pay for the people who are too lazy to work and prefer living off the government, makes for an adequate standard of living? And, if I don't believe in this "social policy", then I must follow the path of Hitler? Wow, is there a specific type of crack that you prefer to smoke?

The Constitution gives us the right to "Pursue" the standard of living we wish to live wether it be adequate or above adequate, depends on how hard you want to work for it. The capitalist system is what made America the country it is today.
As far as Democrats wanting people to have privacy, look at what they did to "Joe the Plumber". They dug into his life and smeared him all over the media because he asked Obama a simple question about his tax system.
The Democrats and Obama want a Nanny state and control of every aspect of our lives. They will get rid of the middle class and all that will be left will be the workers and the rulers who will have all the wealth. How's that for "change"?-

<Nanny state and control of every aspect of our lives. They will get rid of the middle class and all that will be left will be the workers and the rulers who will have all the wealth. How's that for "change"?> Sounds like what we got under GW. He used our fear of the bogeyman to extend the government's reach into our lives, and he gave to the wealthy (the "ownership society") while protecting cheap (immigrant) labor. You are comparing Obama to a myth; why nottry comparing him to reality?

I agree, God help our country when so many Kool-Aid drinkers are voting for people like George W. Bush ... just because he says he's a Born-Again Christian.
Reply
In my humble opinion, anyone who voted for George W. Bush for President should not be allowed to use terms like Marxist, Communist, or Socialist. Because clearly, you don't have the slightest idea of what those terms mean.
For instance, George W. Bush just took money from the taxpayers and gave it to banks. What do y'all call that? -

The Republican genius can knock Obama and make claims of his plans all they want. Seems the one sided President now and his Buds haven't a clue how to help anyone but themselves. Republicans should try coming up with a plan that would actually be something to help this country instead of focusing on Spin Doctoring Bullschitt on others.

Seems the greed of the one sided conservative has sent this country to the schitter. There are one or two programs that they use else where in the world that are socialist programs that work quite well which should be tried here. Its interesting that Republicans are so closed minded and one sided that they wouldn't be even interested in seeing if it can help the country. By they way azzholes,,, it doesn't mean we will be communist. If theres any communist its Republicans wanting everything one way their way, one sided.

And the fear and smear continues. But who thought it would stop among those for whom the world is best drawn as (double-meaning intended) black and white, as us versus them.
Reply
Of course those commies made a great "them," and the opportunity to resurrect the cold-war paradigm of moral capitalism versus immoral, bogeyman communism is just too tempting.
What Red River and others of like mind should do is figure out what within them requires this unceasing dichotomous division of the world.
It is possible that Obama might do a world of good for this nation. Why not wait a bit to see how effective his government is before crying that the sky will fall?

I must admit that though I was intrigued by the headline of this story, I couldn't make myself read yet another ridiculous World Net Daily story. However, I can tell you from the story's summary that at least part of it is a lie.
Reply
Obama does not propose a single-payer system (and I still support him, even though I wish he did). In fact, Obama's healthcare plan doesn't even cover as many people as the one Hillary Clinton proposed during the recent elections. The single-payer idea was killed by the insurance industry's massive ad campaign (remember "Harry and Louise"?) when Hillary first proposed it during the 1990s.
But just keep the lies up, Republicans. This tactic of lying about your opponents' positions rather than offering anything new of your own in order to scare voters into voting against Democrats clearly resulted in a disaster for your party.
As long as you all continue to live in the world of conspiracy theorists, your party will continue to disintegrate. In bad times that require real solutions, the voters aren't buying distractions anymore. -

The article is headlined on a false premise. There is nothing to suggest that the CPUSA even understands what Obama's agenda IS. They certainly have neither the authority nor the inside track to "map it out." This article is a freakin' joke (as is the CPUSA.)

What is interesting is that the Republicans attempts to divide and conquer did not work this time: they could not get us to dislike each other. Could it be, that Obama, by not being too defensive, was able to keep the conversation away fron the spurious non-issues that needed no answering?

I am confused, didn't the greatest generation fight and die to protect this country from communism. I wonder what they think of the new Red Untied Socialist States of America. How long will it be before you need papers to go from state to state. Oh by the way I think GWB squandered the biggest chance this country has had in decades to do good things AT HOME after 911 when the country was more united than ever.

The "card check" laws proposed are not to make joing a labor union easier. They are about make not joining a labor union harder. This may be merely a subtle difference for some, but it is unsubtle enough that even George McGovern gets it.
