Triangulation is easier defined as the spinning around of facts to the point that they eventually make sense. This is what your comment below actually is....

" Right now, today, I'm working on how to tie this together with something called Triangulation. Our Poly-Sci professor, a Bloomberg Republican, taught us about Triangulation through his rants about Bill Clinton. But my classmates and I have realized Triangulation is a common technique. And we realized that Triangulation is also part of the big lie. My theory is that you must use the big lie with a specific purpose. Triangulation provides that purpose."
You and your classmates have "triangulated" your professors lectures into what is convenient for you. This is common human nature. I'm sure that someone as educated as yourself should have covered this in other classes, but seeing that you are in a political science class at the moment; your current emphasise is on yours and "a few others" own theories of politics.
Besides, anybody who teaches a college level class or has ever taken a college level class knows, wikipedia is not a valid source.-

Wikipedia, in and of itself is not a valid source.

But Wikipedia articles usually (at least the ones based on some kind of reality) have a list of references. These references are usually QUITE valid. These references usually come from journals, or from the popular press.
That said, giving someone who really can't understand journals, has access to a library, or just needs some "original source" a wikipedia article is perfectly fine, as long as it has attributed sources..-

Yep. And now everybody uses it. Bush-clone McCain trying to be all "mavricky" and stake a claim to "change" was a great example of triangulation.

Triangulation is essentially getting to your opponents strong points first and co-opting them.
