This story is hardly a religious or "religious-related" story.

Rather, it is a sad example of political retribution and attempted revenge from a disgraced Prosecutor with only a few weeks left in his term as Prosecutor.

This is, in short, a politically-motivated "circus," and should not be taken seriously.

    How do I know this?

I have friends who grew up in Willacy County, and many of their family members still live there. Their stories of how things operate there are sadly (and simultaneously) far too entertaining and far too sobering!

What a poor state of affairs for the residents there!

They deserve our prayers, as they find themselves disadvantaged through no personal fault of their own (at least this applies to most of them)......

Finally, the citizens of Willacy County need to vote for change, and for a new direction for their elected officials, not simply vote once more like mind-numbed robots for the "machine candidates" that have brought them to this sad point.......

So Cheney owns private prisons eh? Why am I not surprised?

The only way that Cheney, Gonzalez and anyone else in the Bush administration would pay for their crimes is if The U.N. decides to charge them with War Crimes. Pres. Bush has already said that he will pardon anyone involved in the War and other crimes.

I just love these comments about Cheney being "pure evil." I think people like Jim Jones, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, are what I would call "pure evil." Time to get a life and move on instead of living in the sickness of the past.

The UN can verbally dress down the Bush administration, but that is the sum of what it can do (which is why it is flawed). While the United States is a member of the United Nations it is not a member of the International Criminal Court and therefore its leaders cannot be tried in the ICC. The UN could impose sanctions on the US if it could get the support of US "allies" but gaining a majorty concensus on a measure such as that would be difficult especially now that we are approaching an end to this administration.

I just don't see how people can call Dick Cheney pure evil. Is he in any way like Hitler or Stalin? Can you even compare anything resulting from the war in Iraq or the war on terrorism with the French Revolution, when the smallest transgression led to a date with the guillotine?

If you watch the start of the movie, "The Great Raid," you will see Japanese soldiers punishing Allied POWs who tried to escape by putting them in a pit, then putting leaking barrels of gasoline in the entrance to the pit. The gas was torched, and then soldiers shot POWs who attempted to escape from the pit.

Is the U.S. government, and specifically Dick Cheney, doing anything that in any way shows the complete lack or regard for human life that was the norm in the Japanese army?
