The man should have had more restraint, for sure, but you picked a relatively mild form of violence compared to the violence inflicted on Gays. Show me an article or video of gays beating up a straight guy, then that would be comparable to what gays are subjected to on a constant basis.

You might not think it was mild if you were the elderly woman being threatened by a CRAZED homosexual man and crowd.

Can you provide any links to what I've asked or not? And I agree that the act by the gay man was reprehensible if true. I've not seen the video you described and would like to see it. Was there any provocation for his actions or was it unprovoked? Doesn't make his actions right if provoked but I could understand his rage and frustrations.

CHARLSON: "Can you provide any links to what I've asked or not?"

I think the answer is obvious.

          No, he can't.

Charlson, you're absolutely right--the man should have had more restraint. On the other hand, considering the persecution and discrimination homosexuals have had to endure, it's quite laughable to see them play the victim when homosexuals decide that they have had enough.

What happened here is a backlash, and by definition, in order to have a "backlash," one must first have been provoked past his or her tipping point. Considering the discrimination homosexuals have to endure, I'm not surprised that this incident represented the "straw that broke the camel's back."

And for every instance that DANEL can cite of homosexuals lashing back by physically abusing their persecutors (and he hasn't cited any so far), I can cite 10 instances of homosexuals being discriminated against and, in many instances, physically abused for a sexual preference they were born with.

          Pathetic.

Thank you DaneL. That was a rather heated demonstration and the protesters did seem out of control. But other than grabbing the cross and stomping on it, I saw no physical violence but mostly jostling and pushing and a lot of verbal insults and shouting. They certainly should have been more restrained but it still does not rise to the level of violence I've seen inflicted on Gays.

She obviously was provoking that. Didn't you see her strutting for the cameras in the middle of what is obviously a heated demonstration to begin with or was that just me?

And how dare she try and play the martyr! She was trying to get press during a demonstration. That is why people kept her from being interviewed. That is why people covered her face up with signs while she was walking away. She didn't care about protesting. She just wanted press.

And that website you posted really was gross. The way that they presented that video was horrific.

What was up with the interviewer anyway? She staged her interview right in front of the same protesters. Seems like she was spoiling for a confrontation, the way she kept saying "We're being attacked here."

Did you see the link. You are wrong AGAIN! Soin your opinion as long as there are more instances of physical abuse against homosexuals, then it's fine for them to act this way. You are really a piece of work.

Now DaneL, I made a point to say that type of behavior was not acceptable. Didn't you read my posts? But I also asked you to show me gays beating or killing a straight man. And how common is that? We know the answer to that don't we? Gays have always been a minority in this country and have always been discriminated against and vilified by the majority. I don't condone the actions of that man or crowd but they have some justification for their anger. Straights don't. Gays are no REAL threat to the institution of marriage between a man and a woman. Marriages are more threatened by those in the relationship than gays or lesbians. I think your bigotry and prejudices are more threatening than the lifestyle of gays and lesbians. And before you ask, I am straight and happily married. You are really a piece of work.

                        DANEL:
"Did you see the link. You are wrong AGAIN! "

Actually, I did see the link. There is a video able on youtube here:
                        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hRJAd7GInQ

What is evident from the video is that there was NO physical violence, and the woman is not pressing charges because she suffered NO trauma.

                        DANEL:
"Soin your opinion as long as there are more instances of physical abuse against homosexuals, then it's fine for them to act this way."

Wow. It's official. You are clearly ILLITERATE. I admitted earlier that: "the man should have had more restraint," (my exact words) even though the woman was actually NOT abused.

I also find it laughable that, AS PREDICTED, you have FAILED to produce evidence (i.e. convictions or indictments) of physical abuse or murder committed by homosexuals directed at heterosexuals.

                        PATHETIC.

                        Spin this:

"During an emotional hearing in the House on Thursday, lawmakers and witnesses likened the treatment of teens in youth boot camps to the kind of torture faced by prisoners at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison. Investigators uncovered cases in which a program employee's pit bull was trained to bite students in the groin and where teens had bags placed over their heads and nooses slipped around their necks. The GAO uncovered thousands of allegations of abuse, some of which involved death, at residential programs since the early 1990s."

The pattern of police hostility and misconduct towards the LGBT community has been documented by Amnesty International USA. In Stonewalled: Police abuse and misconduct against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the U.S., Amnesty International (AI) documents a serious pattern of police abuse and misconduct including: (1) sexual, physical and verbal abuse, including incidents constituting torture or ill-treatment; (2) profiling and discriminatory enforcement of certain laws and ordinances against LGBT people; and (3) failure to respond or inappropriate response to "hate crimes" and domestic violence.

Corro said Grossman preferred to be low key about his sexual orientation."

"Six people were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of a gay man who was beaten to death in an apparent homophobic attack. David Morley, 37, was sitting by the Thames near the Royal Festival Hall with a friend on Saturday night when he was set upon by a group of teenagers in an attack police believe was prompted by homophobia. A postmortem examination showed that he received 40 blows, and suffered fractured ribs and a ruptured spleen. Police said four other people had been beaten with fists, feet and improvised weapons in separate incidents near the Thames that night. Five years ago he was bar manager at the Admiral Duncan pub on Old Compton Street when a nail bomb exploded, killing three people and injuring more than 70."

Eyewitnesses said several foreign gay rights activists were beaten by protesters."

Actually, supporting assertions with evidence is critical to developing a coherent argument. That's a skill I first learned not in medical school, nor in graduate school, nor as an undergrad, nor in high school, but rather in primary school.

Apparently, you never got that far.

                            LOL.

Still waiting for your "evidence." Don't worry, though. Judging from your posting history, I've learned not to hold my breath.

That crowd was there for a national protest march. She was the only one who decided to thumb her nose at a group of angry people. She worked to deny us rights and then has the audacity to show up at a peaceful demonstration and parade herself in front of an angry mob. She is pathetic and your attemtps to martyr her are pathetic.

I agree it was wrong of him to do that, there are idiots in every walk of life, and he doesn't represent all the gay community. Again not saying it was right, but she had to have known something like that would happen. Not like anyone beat her up.
