    In this instance, Harbeas, "the people" are at the very least ignorant, and at the worst, bigoted.

    Mass will isn't in itself invariably a good thing; it can be challenged and overrode, and should be when it's discriminatory or harmful in other ways.

    As it is in the case of Prop 8. The irony is that the institution of marriage is strengthened rather than the reverse by allowing gay people to wed one another.

    Those who believe the opposite act out of irrational fear and/or moral obtuseness.

      Here someone goes again. To disagree with the gay community automatically marks one as a bigfot. Not! "The irony is that the institution of marriage is strengthened rather than the reverse by allowing gay people to wed one another". That is absolutely untrue. Did you just make that up? Once again the gay community wants the government to stay out of marriage. But they are not averse to going to them and asking them to disallow 2 seperate votes by the people rejecting same sex marriage. Because if the supreme court keeps reversing the outcome of elections what's to stop them from reversing the presidential election or any other elections?
