Thank you for the invite Spadecaller. And, thank you for the music, the art, the poetry, and the thoughts. If Jesus were here today...who would even know?

That is very good, and true my friend. Well done.
Although, I'm more of the opinion, that every day should be like that.
One night a year to show the world your heart is not good enough.
My wife doesn't have a heart for the homeless she thinks they want to be that way.
We argue about that.
I have a saying I tell her. I say yeah, "I see people lining up screaming please pick me, I want to be homeless. I want to live a life of daily misery and be looked at as the drudges of society. I really enjoy being hungry, dirty, unkept, sick, worried about what I might be able to find to eat. The cold or the heat don't bother me. Because see I was made to be a cast off from society. I don't have feelings or, need the warmth of human companionship. Compassion should be given only to those who have wealth not problems."
She thinks the homeless choose to be that way. I know some of them do.
But most of them have been overwhelmed by a series of events in their lives.
I chose the homeless as an example, insert whoever's, or whatever injustice one sees on this earth.
Before anyone says I'm a bleeding heart liberal.
Nahhhh !!! I believe in working hard to make something of your self. But, I also believe that God blesses us so that we can help others in need, that is the true wealth in this world.
I have never read in the Bible where God says I help those who help themselves. But I have read many passages that say to help others.
Sorry for the long winded reply my friend.
I just truly have a heart for the less fortunate in this life.
Thanks for the invite.-

Well said CB.... I totally agree.... not many people chose to be down and out. Some may take the wrong road, that leads them to despair... but they probably didn't believe it could happen to them. Crap happens and it can happen to any one of us... something to think about all the time, not just xmas.

Some homeless are veterans with post traumatic syndrome disorder, some have other mental illnesses, some are addicts and alcoholics, some are suffering from depression... does it really matter?

Another fantastic, thought provoking video SC! As an avid advocate for the homeless and mentally ill, it really touched my soul. This year will be especially difficult for so, so many people. I hope everyone who takes the time to watch this video finds it in their "spirit" to reach out to someone less fortunate.

To me it is not where would Jesus go or what would he do it is what will we, as people that are more fortunate, actually do for those individuals that are less fortunate.

For as extensions of our creator we should take care of each other in a manner conducive and in line with the wishes of our creator, not with vacuous words and donations to assuage our 'sense' of civic duty. -

Boy! I should have just passed on this one tonight, way to much emotion for me.

The most interesting part of the narration to me is when the man asked "how do they find me". The person who has to ask this question is already blessed in my opinion. I was going to put in some personal experiences in regards to this but decided that it might not be proper. If people come to you it is because you already have the peace that comes with helping.
I live a mile off a major highway and at night our light is always on and the door is never locked, some tell me that this is just plain stupid but I have faith.
I guess the reason it brought out much emotion had to do with the fact that I was looking at my profile and noticed the requests from people to add me as a friend and yet I have not ever added anyone as a friend because if I cannot be there when they truely need me how can I be considered a friend.
As many of the above posts state this was a great presentation with a message that we all need to pay attention to but to be able to do this we must be able to walk in others shoes something that not many people nowdays wish to do. Nice to see you getting the ball rolling for the festive season.-

It made me think of how many people that would actually let Jesus into their home if he came knocking.
