Exactly, another oddity was 'Doctor Who' almost didn't make it because it debuted on the same day when JFK was assassinated (Nov. 23, 1963).

Ironically if it hadn't been for Terry Nation's Daleks, many theorized the show wouldn't have survived past its First Season. -

Awesome find. Since the early 80's I use to get up every Sunday morning and watch Doctor Who on PBS. Back then the Doctor was played by Tom Baker, who in my opinion was the best Doctor ever. I was floored when the BBC started the series again and started showing it on Sci-Fi. The new actor playing the Doctor, David Tennant is almost as great as Tom Baker. To bad they are taking a break from it for a few years.

There's still going to be five specials over the next year, starting with the Christmas Day episode. Then when the 5th season starts in 2010 there will be a new Doctor! Tom Baker was my Doctor back when I was a small kid. He was the guest presenter of Have I Got News For You a couple of weeks ago. He may be in his 70's, but he's still got that magic Time Lord quality.
