I'm still convinced that we'll know when racism is over when a white comedian can drop an n-bomb at the Apollo in a derogatory (yet funny) way and everyone laughs.
As for me, there are two colors. Whites and everything else. My wife disagrees.-

You would have to go back to 1018 and the founding of the Buckfast Abbey by Earl Aylward under the reign of King Cnut to find out why the wearing of tighty whiteys were forbidden.

I think it had something to do with the Gregorian Chants that the monks would sing. Since there were no metronomes back then he only timing mechanism that the monks had was the “pendulum” that God gave them, which would have been restricted by the wearing of “tighty whiteys”.

I have to wash them together they came that way. LOL
Once when I was younger and driving a truck for a living, I washed a brand new red t-shirt with all my white socks, underwear, t-shirts... You guessed it. Everything came out pink. LMAO hahahahaaaaaaa
I knew better, but I was distracted by a red haired beauty.
She still went out with me, pink t-shirt and all.
Man did I take a lot of grief over that, got in a few fights over that one.
Of course the pink t-shirt caused me some trouble as well. LOL

The last I saw of her she was au natural, waving goodbye !!!!! I'd had a three day layover, now that is what I call a layover. If they hadn't fixed the driveshaft that day, well I mighta still been there. LOL
As I left I thought to myself. I've got to quit driving driving these damn trucks.

I blew a drive shaft in Los Banos CA.
Dog gone U-Joints let loose and twisted the yoke of the shaft.
It couldn't have happened in a better place. I was bone tired and needed some R and R Rest and Relaxation.
LOL I also needed to do some laundry.

I think that there are really only two colors -- "sort of light" and "sort of dark".

From a historical standpoint, separating colors dates from the time when fabrics, fabric treatments, and dyeing techniques were less sophisticated than today. Don't think you'd want to put a red shirt from the 1950's with white stuff; that's less of a problem with today's stuff. But don't try it at home, saying "Chevy told me." -

I blame my wife for the segregation of clothing for the washer. If it was up to me, and it isn't, I'd put everything in the washer all at once. But the dryer is intergrated. You just have to adjust the spinning and heat to accomodate the lowest common denominator.

I do admit that I haven't had the "pleasure" (?????) of meeting her.
We all make mistakes in live, and yes, some times we have to carry the consequences of those mistakes for the rest of that same live......
And, yes, it's some times better to avoid an "unwinnable" battle and to survive for the other more important.

I do see that you do stand your ground on more important issues.

Hmmmm a red root thing I suppose. Red as in 'beet red'. They are supposed to be good for as are tomatos with whatever it is that makes them red make them heart healthy.

I once made the mistake of telling my wife the wrinkle cream she was buying wouldn't work, of course I was in line with her at the store when I said it.
Phewwwwww !!!!! Man did I have to dance and bob and weave out of that one. Good thing I'm still quick or I'd a caught that wrinkle removing cream upside of my head. Hahahahhaahaaaa
What I had meant to say was "honey why are you buying that cream ???? You have no wrinkles that I see, you don't need it."

We were shopping one time and she caught me off guard. We walked by the lingerie dept. and she stopped. So I stopped and was just minding my own business when she aske me ???
"Honey look at this one, doesn't it remind you f the one I used to have ???"
Stupid me, I look and say say "yeah, it sure does, but you were thinner when you were younger !!!!" Man I was mortified !!!!!! Not only had I said it but there was another woman there who heard it. hahahhaaaaaaaa
She looked at my wife and said "You poor thing, he is not really your husband is he???"
My wife who knows that I will say anything, just looked at me as if to say don't say it !!!!
But I couldn't help myself " I looked at her and said, yeah I'm the lucky one, but ya got to take the good with the bad. We had the good now ....." I was laughing when I said it and my wife and the other woman started laughing as well. I finished with "Well look at me now, I used to be the prized bull, now well you know, hahahhaaaa"

Some subjects are not well suited for satire. Like joking about the holocaust, for example. The struggle for civil rights involved great courage by people whose only defense was their dignity, moral clarity, and the strength they found in their growing numbers as they marched peacefully and braved dogs, batons, and water cannons. To make light of this with such campy humor just seems a little inappropriate. Try to imagine being surrounded by people who regard you as second class citizens and knowing that you could be subjected to violence or humiliation at any time with little or no recourse. Imagine carrying that kind of stigma or burden for most of your life. Humor always treads a fine line and I suppose that we could make a case for many other jokes being offensive to some one. Its never easy to sort out these issues but my gut tells me this one is not right.
