As we head toward Thanksgiving its been another tough week on the news front. Highest jobless claims in 16 years, the big three in such distress, peoples 401K's balances down nearly 50% from just a year ago...I think its weighing on all of us.

    James, great post as usual.

I agree, it's been one hairy week, especially on the fiscal front. But the markets started climbing this afternoon after Obama announced his pick for Treasury, and maybe the steep slide will be arrested for a little while and we can catch our breath. Or not. In either case, have a good weekend, and I'm glad you liked the post.

To pick up on TimALoftus' thought and BronxBomber's, we can all be thankful that gas prices are back below $2 a gallon, unless we own a gas station. :-)

        JamesMarcus,

I enjoyed your article as well as your choice of quotable bloggers. But, be careful quoting me as I've alienated Liberals and Conservatives alike!

Of course, it is always fun to see someone else find you quote worthy! And, danged if I wasn't mighty quotable this past week! LOL

I have a hard time NOT posting on subjects like politics, the economy, and other topics that are directly affecting us as a society. So, keep those article coming!

If nobody posted on subjects like politics, the economy, and that drunken guy in Germany, Propeller would not exist. So thanks for keeping the gears turning, and have a great weekend.

Great WIR JamesMarcus! I'd like to thank you for noting that people, of late, have been taking the "easy way out" and treating my posts as news! Apparently the City Council of Saint Anthony have joined Propeller! I'd like to take this quiet moment to assure everyone that my posts are not now, never have been and never will be news. News quotient: 0%. The Surgeon General recommends you take a news supplement if you subsist entirely on a diet of my posts.

You do such a great job summing up hectic weeks, now that the election is over, the market has crashed, banks are going under, etc. things will be a bit more calmer.

Wait till Thanksgiving and the tryptophan from the Turkey before making any additional calls about being drowsy.

I noticed that the review mentioned the story about the American automotive industry bailout and comments were made about how the UAW is the problem with the American automotive industry.
While doing more research of foreign automotive plants I came upon this article on factory conditions in "Toyota City". Very interesting how Toyota treats their workers when they have no one to fight for them.

              Excellent find.

Seems the more people try to cut costs the more the average worker suffers. Why can't these CEO's and the upper screw ups of management take a good hard look at reality and see their shortcomings for what they are. Grossly overpaid, self serving, greedy, lying, do nothings who pad their resumes with successes that someone else did and they took credit for !!!!

This country needs to go back to making these clowns, responsible for their actions. Put a high tariff on the them and make them compete like we have to.

They wouldn"t be able to handle it, but someone like you and alot more, undrstands what so much more then what they ever could, never could one of them take the responsiblity of there actions. and theres where you find the good man from the bad man.
