I could not disagree with you more. I do think that same sex relationships are normal and that your morality should not be shoved down my throat. Just because your religion or your church teaches you one thing does not give your church or its followers the right to tell me how to live my life.

As for teaching such topics in school, we do have some room for agreement. I do not think the topic of marriage (gay or straight) is an age appropriate topic for younger children. Children are not old enough or mature enough to understand the nuances behind marriages and adult relationships. That said, children eventually do grow and can make up their own minds. Sheltering children from the world throughout their entire school time is nonsense. Children should be exposed to dating, relationship development and in general sex education in an age appropriate manner.

I do enjoy posting these comments and no offense is taken by your comments. However, do understand that if gays and lesbians do not continue to stand for their own lives and rights, who will stand for us? We must speak out and be proud of who we are or our rights will be quashed. It is for that reason that teaching children in an age appropriate way is a necessity.

If those "1 in 10" people would just get up and knife that 10% of haters in the back, I'd bet that the remaining 3 or 4 million people that don't have gay relatives or friends would just look the other way.

Not that it makes it right.

But I and about 250 million others would say it does.

        david_nwpa,

People can use the strict bell-curve to describe "normal" or they can acknowledge modal distributions that hold over time, which show a consistent curve for homosexuality as well.

Belief has a power all its own, and knowledge doesn't touch it. Very clever of the anti-science contingency to name their pseudo "think tank" the Discovery Institute and their effort at indoctrination a "museum". I haven't decided if it's organized sociopathy or just profound ignorance.
