alternately, we could hope that obama is being told who to pick, so we can maintain our illusions a little longer.

    The offering from your side of the fence was no better. That's unfortunate. Both candidates strayed from original positions to cater to select groups, especially McCain. Don't act like McCain didn't produce his share of empty rhetoric. He would have been better served had he fire everyone in his organization and drove the bus himself. He wouldn't have spent 6 months losing the respect he once enjoyed.
