Comments for No Amnesty for Cheney et al, Say Torture Opponents »

Posted By ameliog 1 year ago in Political News

Bush administration officials for torture and war crimes are a distant prospect. But likely or not, that won't stop pundits from debating the question of whether those officials responsible should be held accountable.

having open hearings in congress would be a good enough first step. for as the details emerged, enough political cover would form to allow our "leaders" to act.

there should be NO AMNESTY for these unAmerican purveyors of torture.

for us to let them off the hook is to condone their actions.

it is the rule of law that is king in America.

and NO ONE is above the law.

A law is only as good as its enforcement. And so, holding the government to the law, when the government is the enforcer, is a slippery proposition. As we have seen.

You had better make darn sure you know what the laws are,as pleading ignorant to a law does not excuse you from abbiding by that law. This administration used every tactic imaginable to twist and turn the laws to their own agenda. I have prayed for them to be held accountable for the crimes committed against humanity in America's name. A disgrace to all of us. We can only hope President Elect Obama's administration can and will turn how the world views us around. I beleive what you sow, so you reap and these people will be held accountable at some point. America is turning that corner and we all need to hold our public officials accountable for their actions, whatever they may be
