I am not so sure that even in a controlled environment that this is a good idea. The fact these people get up from their "treatment" and return to work frightens me. I am not sure they should be able to leave until the side effects wear off. Besides, heroin is a rather dangerous narcotic. I would think that it is too dangerous even for doctors to prescribe.

FTA: "In a few minutes most get up and leave. Those who have jobs go back to work."

Pretty stereotype-smashing. No nodding off allowed? Of the twenty or so heroin users I've known in my life, only three have died, all upon release from jail. The others are fine. From a doctor and several lawyers to cab drivers. Of course those are all back in the US.

No doubt there's danger, but I don't think the addicts will be walking into pharmacies and picking up a months supply. I think they'll keep it in the clinic where it will be administered.

Dirty heroin is far more dangerous than pharmaceutical grade, though.

Also potasium ferocianide, just in case an atomic plant blows, or the terrorist blowsone up... one can end it swiftly but painfully, right ?
