  When I read reports coming from India regarding the Mumbia attacks, I have difficulty gaining any composure to make a rational comment. My feelings are identical to those I had during the 9/11 attacks. It will take some time to sort them out, as this has dredged up anger and frustration that has not yet been laid to rest.
  I grieve.

  Obviously the Lubavitch Hasidic sect, went to bed with the wrong people, or kidnapped the wrong people, or threaten the wrong people, or tried to rob the wrong people (by legal means like always, right ?) otherwise the attack against them in India would not have happened. Those killed there were innocent, but being part of a movement, sect, organization that are not all that innocent, their activity makes them guilty too. That's how modern laws are: If you participate in a group that robs a bank, even if you were just the driver and didn't pull the trigger, you are still guilty of murder. That's how I see it, and by reversed logic starting from the consequences, I came to the conclusion that they must have done something horrible.

    I guess we can use this logic to presume guilty all the terrorists who've died in Afghanistan and Iraq over the past 6 years.

  I find this whole thing to be reminicent of a Bruce Willis movie, where people claiming to be political terrorists actually have other motives. These people were highly organized and brutal. I would take a lot of training over a long period of time to wipe out a person's natural bent toward empathy for women and children and non-combatant men. I'd like to know what is really going on here.

  I wonder why the Muhammadans of Propeller are avoiding commenting on these stories about this terrorism in Mumbai? I guess no one has come up with a story where they can blame it on Jews or Americans like they do with 911. I'm sure they will get there eventually.

    well since everybody has already assumed these terrorists were muslims as always it seems they were in fact HINDUS.... whether there is foreign intelligence manipulating it remains to be seen. why a hindu group would target a jews, americans and brits begs the question.

    I don't see any reason why India should allow Israel's crack commando to interfere
    in India's military operation and investigation. It just creates confusion when the Commando force of a foreign country teams up with the local Commando force.

      Well. for starters, the terrorists understood the buildings they attacked better than the Indian commandos who stormed. Indian troops were hampered getting to the scene by--of all things--the throngs of people that police didn't properly keep off the scene. And Israelis could issue instructions to hostages that the terrorists would not understand, whereas with Indian commandos, there's the risk that the hostages would not understand any instructions and/or would have the same grasp of the language the terrorists had.
      
      There's also the success rate of Israeli commandos and the fact that no one but Israeli commandos would be more sensitive to saving the lives of innocent Jews even at loss to their own numbers.
      
      I expect similar Jewish centers around the world to change their practices substantially. And the Indian navy no doubt has a whole new set of marching orders for securing the extensive Indian coast.

    Well, not Bush alone. Pakistan has been a client state of american imperialists for over 50 years now. We found it "beneficial" to support military dictatorships in Pakistan to "amplify" our "influence" in the region.

    Chopra: What we have seen in Mumbai has been brewing for a long time, and the war on terrorism and the attack on Iraq compounded the situation. What we call "collateral damage" and going after the wrong people actually turns moderates into extremists, and that inflammation then gets organized and appears as this disaster in Bombay. Now the worst thing that could happen is there's a backlash on the Muslims from the fundamental Hindus in India, which then will perpetuate the problem. Inflammation will create more inflammation.
    
    CNN: Let me jump in on that because you're presuming something very important, which is that it's Muslims who have carried out these attacks and, in some cases, with Washington in their sights.
    
    Chopra: Ultimately the message is always toward Washington because it's also the perception that Washington, in their way, directly or indirectly funds both sides of the war on terror. They fund our side, then our petrol dollars going to Saudi Arabia through Pakistan and ultimately these terrorist groups, which are very organized. You know Jonathan, it takes a lot of money to do this. It takes a lot of organization to do this. Where's the money coming from, you know? The money is coming from the vested interests. I'm not talking about conspiracy theories, but what happens is, our policies, our foreign policies, actually perpetuate this problem. Because, you know, 25% of the world's population is Muslim and they're the fastest growing segment of the population of the world. The more we alienate the Muslim population, the more the moderates are likely to become extremists.
