Posted By garnold514 11 months, 4 weeks ago in NewsEvery once in a while, something will appear in the night sky that will attract the attention of even those who normally don\'t bother looking up. It\'s likely to be that way on Monday evening, Dec. 1. A slender crescent moon, just 15-percent illuminated, will appear in very close proximity to the two brightest planets in our sky, Venus and Jupiter.

It might be here. They post unusual events and things that are currently happening in astronomy. http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html It won't be there until tomorrow though because it hasn't happened yet.

I was driving home stuck in traffic on the 10 Freeway last night thru Palm Springs, CA and was complaining about the bumper to bumper traffic but had a chance to stare at this once in a lifetime event...It looked amazing! I can't wait to see it again tonight. Enjoy God's handiwork!!!

I can see it from where I am in Raleigh, NC. Its a very pretty site, but yet its sad that those three things are pretty much the only lights in the sky. During the summer a couple of years ago I went up to my friends country house during a meteor shower. It was away from all the light pollution and the site was breath taking. One of the most amazing things I've seen in mt life.
